What do you guys use or prefer more StyleXP or Windows Blinds? Is there another program you guys use instead? Also how do you guys get the mac style quick launch with transparent background?

i use to use stylexp but then got tired of it sucking all of my CPU speed and it didnt have as much cool customizeable stuff about. window blinds is awesome, uses MUCH less cpu bandwith and is much more customizable.

That's odd, WindowBlinds was using more then StyleXp on my system. StyleXP takes a whole 3MB tops. That and I was getting errors with OpenGL games (Q3 anyway) with WB installed. :mad:

They remind of Wallace & Grommet type of animals (like the sheep from those Serta commercials).

Is there a 1024x768 version of that wallpaper? I tried re-sizing and cropping in photoshop but didn't turn out well.. yeah Im a noob at photoshop. :(

My relatively simple desktop--using K-Fab widgets; Avedesk & Yz Dock (will permanently switch to RK Launcher as soon as it is further along through beta). It can't bee seen in this shot, but I am also using the Longhorn 5023 theme w/ WindowBlinds....

How do you get that webcam on the desktop like that? I know you have to have an active desktop, but what else? Is there a tutorial somewhere?
 
i think its a widget. desktopx has those (another stardock product), and theres one other one (which i think is free) that i cant remember. i think thats the one hes using, but i forget the name. konfabulator, maybe? :confused:
 
cool thanks. also, what is the name of that desktop calender that i see alot in here? its the transparent one that goes along the side of the screen?
 
the webcam thing is a widget from kapsules. ive stopped using the program because its a memory hog :[
the calendar that everyone here uses is called rainlendar.

I don't think so. If you were to shrink it proportionately, it would be too small to really enjoy on that resolution. You could try to extract the sheep and place them against a background of your own.

 
i think hes using object dock to open the menus like that.. Yz dock does the same thing. a good free windows icon editor is reshack. really simple to use and theres a 5 min learning curve and a small factor of frecking up ur shell32.dll. i edited all of my win xp system icons and still nothing bad happened.

how can i get the "eject" icon onto my desktop w/o using avedesk?
