What the hell. What version of srmm_mite are you using and what os?

I can't get it to work on vista with 0.7.x Crash on startup ftl.

I realize the picture doesn't match up, but my monitors don't match up, so they match up when you are looking at the monitors

Does anyone else find it totally ironic that people will do this type of setup (meaning the screenshot in the post quoted above) in Windows, using a totally different bar or "dock" with large icons on it when the Taskbar has been able to do this since 1995? I mean really... my Taskbar as case in point:

Just curious. And yes, I could use those pretty high color icons if I chose, even in different sizes, and yes mine is at the top of the screen (always wanted to go back in time to Win95 development and beat the shit outta the person that was responsible for putting it on the bottom), but I'll never comprehend why people feel it necessary to run extra software to do something that basically is a function of Windows already... it's been in there since 1995 and it seems only a handful of people even know it.

Full disclosure ftw:

To the above.

I prefer my taskbar to be clean.. unlike yours. Also, a dock can be minimized, moves anywhere, and tons fo stuff added to.. without making the taskbar look awful. I used to run a bunch in quick launch, but even with 20apps on my dock, having the taskbar clean makes the PC look better

No offense Joe, but your taskbar is hideous compared to my dock.

I use both taskbar and Object Dock, and I disagree with the stand you took on this issue. You prefer your taskbar to be clean, which is understandable, but you must realize that some people view OD as a way to clutter up the desktop, as well as run in the background eating up system resources. I have an AM2 6400 Black Edition CPU and 4 GB memory, so I am not concerned with the system resource issue, but others with a slower system might be. Taskbar is capable of doing just about everything that OD can do, including move to any of the four edges of your screen, and autohide. Yes I do realize that some of the things OD can do with one click, taskbar requires two or three clicks, but, if your personal time is so limited that you can't afford the time to do more than one click, maybe you should be doing something besides using a computer. When I say "YOU" in the last sentance, I really mean "THE USER", not necessarily YOU. As far as making the PC look better goes, that is in the eye of the beholder, after all, PC is an acronym for "Personal Computer", not "Public Computer".

O, and I have tried OD, I just don't like it.

rkf76 What Icons are you using in the dock? Thanks
It's not from any one particular set, although the one's for my documents/videos/pictures are all from the wraith icon set. The other one's are from all different sets, when I d/l a set I just pick the one's I like and get rid of the rest.

As illuminate, the taskbar isn't clean like a dock is. I'll admit there are so cluttered docks, but those of us that customize a bit more rather than just to have quick access to all our games go for that slick, streamlined look and a dock just seems to be the smarter solution. Not to mention a dock takes up hardly any resources so it really doesn't matter :p If people complain about resource usage from a dock, they should stop using that crappy Object Dock and try something like Rk Launcher. (which supports OD stuff...)

Thhaaankkkyouuuu!! very well said.
Yes, docks can look like crap... but, like Willister said, if the time is taken, icons found, nice docklets and such, they can look quite sexy
