ive been wearing those since i was 13 :p

love those shoes. i wear other ones to go to the gym with, but those are my daily shoes :D

im sure chicks dig the fan noise that the computer is putting off right next to her head which is only amplified by the side of the case being off, then when you are banging them out you go to flip her on her back and she catchs the 12GB hard drive and knocks the shelf over. :D
 
roffles. all the fans in the computer are <21db, teh shelf is pretty well secured, and my GF has her own dorm room ;)

also, she wouldnt be able to figure out the drive is 12gb. not like i use the damn thing anyway. and even if i did have a geek nerd GF, i could impress her with the 146gb 10k seagate U160 drives, not the 12gb IBM, duh!:D

There's a mod in the top of the case, a fill-port connected to a tube, I'm waiting to upgrade my mobo to a 939 before I add the components

No, people think they are that much more "1337" when their $150-500 speaker sets have the grilles removed because they honestly think it sounds better and they "can tell the difference".

These are PC speakers folks, not fucking studio monitors.

Me? I'll keep them on. When a foreign object flies across the room into my speakers, I'll be glad there's something there to protect them.
 
lots of people take grill covers off because it changes the sound coming out. optically transparent my butt!
 
i took them off cause i like seeing raw drivers, not because they sound better with them off, but just the raw speaker look is what is cool

In theory, yes.

But your speakers have to be pretty damn good to where your guards are gonna seriously (or even noticeably) alter the sound output.

For most peoples' setups, this is a non-issue, especially for college kids like myself.

The best is when people remove the covers in their cars and wonder

a) why their sweet red sony "xplod" 6x9s just got stolen
b) why their tweeters break off their 2ways

Grilles are for protection. At least where my speakers are set up, I'm glad to have them, even if I have to sacrifice sound quality (sic).
 
Why are you throwing shuriken at your speakers? If you have bullet proof covers, then I guess you should keep them on in case there's a drive by in your computer room.

I took mine off for the appearance.
 
i run my polk r-15's without grills because the stock grills look retarded on the speakers, and when i can get a new pair for about $50 i am willing to take the risk

Look, aphrodite, grilles are for protection.

Unless your setup costs thousands of dollars, having the grilles on will not noticeably detract from the sound quality.

Just leave it at that.
