Wow, how can you stand that keyboard? :O.

I tried to type on one of those but I just couldn't.

well i never had any problems with mine, but i poured half a can of coke on it so now im using a saitek eclipse which helps with all my midnight gaming needs. Im hoping saitek or logitech will make a gaming egonomic keyboard, so you get the split keys with the backlighting and sleek look.

Exactly what happened to me. I started off using normal keyboards, like everyone does.....then a friend of mine had one of the origonal split keyboards from microsoft. I was like, how the hell you type on that? Now im around 30WPM on a normal keyboard and like 75WPM on my split keyboard :) Im actually getting the newest one in the mail any day now :) Ironically, this keyboard and the keyboard on my 700m (which has smaller than normal laptop keys) are exactly the opposite..but i can type better on these two extremes than on a standard dell keyboard....man i hate those things......

I finally took a few pictures of my dorm room! I didn't pick up or anything for them, so the way it looks in the pictures is the way it looks in real life. ^_^ haha

Oh, and please don't mind the dust on the server.

Thanks, got them for 130$us, and I enjoy them. The Beyerdynamic DT990pro is tad bit better then my old HD590 V3's all in all, so I use them as my main ones now.

You sleep partially in your closet...?
Yea, its a shame! This dorm room is soooo awful for the layout and space, its laughable. This was the only way I could fit everything in without bunking the beds. I don't really notice it when sleeping, its just a pain to get at some of my clothes. Very observant!

Hopefully this thread will still be around in ~5 years for when I head to collage. So I can learn off your mistakes of room planning.

there is no such thing as room planning when you live in shitty dorms

Skudmunky - umass? i totally did the live in the closet thing last year.

I'm actually not in college yet, but strangely enough I do live in MA.

Thats why I haven't posted any pics in this thread. ;)

You said it! Good ol' UMASS.... YUCK.
I think the "Danger" sign on the front of my door is very appropriate.

I made up a whole Adobe illustrator file to scale of all the funiture and other random stuff I needed, and this was the best I could do without bunking (Well, I could have had my bed in the middle of the room, but I didn't want to sleep too close to my roomate.)
At any rate, hopefully next year I'll be able to get a single room. That would be ideal. Then I could finally bring in my stereo setup, haha.

Thats my home-brewed loft. The boards just sit on the floor and rest against the wall and ceiling. God forbid anyone kicks one of the boards out (fortunately, not that easy, really)

I suppose it would be good for someone that knows how to touch type, but someone that "finger types" like me- forget about it! :D

aww :( you'll learn some day...

You my friend, are just fucking nuts. I agree, that takes some serious balls, and or large amounts of alcohol to be able to do that.

:D No I wont, if I am 18 now, chances are I wont be learning anytime soon, considering how long I have been working with computers. At least I am fast (Need to be for all these college essays) :p

To the poster with the bed setup: playing a little Russian Roulette are we? :)

sandness, doesn't the housing people where you live check the dorms over long vacations or whatnot?

ANyway, that's pretty ghetto, and in my view taking your chances.
Great idea though!

lol at the hanging bed mod, i would never trust that over my comp. anyways, here are some new pics of my room just for fun because i got a little bored

My hanging bed is a lot more stable than it looks. Had it for 3yrs without an issue.

I suppose if ever were to fall, an insurance adjuster would probably give me a funny look- "My bed, uh, crushed it."

Damn, you sir are my number one badass. And I concur, that does take balls, BIG balls.

You learn to type different...thats for sure. I cant type on regular keyboards at all....only split ones and laptop keyboard ones (im on my 700m right now)....so maybe it is the touch typing thing.....but touch typing is faster anyway :)

I think it takes more balls to kno that your pc could be crushed along with 2 flat screen monitors while you sleep rather than just the fact of just sleeeping high up lol so true BIG ASS BALLS :D

my setup: Don't mind the fucking ugly Princeton CRT monitor, I'm borrowing it.

roommate playing Ace Combat 5, his pc's a 3.6ghz 660 p4 with an evga 6800, anyway

if I have 2 screens like that, I won't put a bed on top like that. I still don't see what is holding that bed not falling off.

i don't think my girlfriend would ever get in that bed, but it is pretty cool for saving space

Here's my tiny room (gotta love PSU dorms):
