Hey guys, my boss came in off lunch in def-con 4 mode. Basically he said he was browsing a "hack site" he didn't say what for, but now IE and FF CTD after a few seconds of them being started. He downloaded Google Chrome and it works just fine. However he needs IE to work. I am running a Virus scan right now, but while I am waiting, does anyone else have any suggestions? Thanks!

I would say to try ccleaner and check for any registry Errors. Also try cleaning IE and FF with ccleaner. If that doesnt work completely uninstall both and then reinstall them.

Also use Malwarebytes AND Super AntiSpyware for additional cleaning.

Hey, well after a long fight I got it fixed. Turns out there were 4 viruses that Norton and AVG detected; problem is two of them couldn't get removed. The worm blocked the virus scanners, and anything related to them and live updates. The solution was getting Cloud Panda from Cloud Anti. Panda Cloud was able to get rid of those other two. The machine is back up now. Thanks for all of the replies!

Cloud Panda.

I bet it's still not clean. I've yet to see an anti-malware app be able to remove it all when you get a payload of multiple malwares.

Using Hijackthis 2.0.2 and a tutorial, you may be able to find and remove more if you're technically inclined - be careful because Hijackthis is a bit of a nuclear weapon because it can see and delete good stuff as well as bad stuff.

But it would be better and safer to just reformat and reinstall fresh, and to tell your boss to read a few Dilbert cartoons and stop viewing porn sites during lunch. :D

Yeah, I have used Hijackthis in the past. When he is away next time I'll run it. He is still isolated for the time being so he can still work.
