On september 26th, Quino (who has 260-2-2 heat) offered to purchase my CPU if I would ship first. Seeing as he has ALOT of heat, I agreed.

FS thread here: http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1225298&highlight=q6600+retail

He said he would pay by money order because he didn't like paypal. I did ask him, however, to send me $1 through paypal to prove that I was sending the CPU to a confirmed address. He did and agreed to send my money order within 24 hours after receiving the CPU and would include delivery confirmation upon sending the MO. I also checked his heat, and he has paid people in the past via MO as well.

He receives the CPU on monday, October 1st (via usps + DC). He does not contact me in any way until I PM him on wed (oct 3rd). I remind him that he agreed to pay within 24 hours of shipment. He responds on October 4th saying that he is sorry and will send out the money order "today" and just needs my address.

I PM my address again, and I contact him around saturday (oct 6th) to see if he sent out the MO. On Monday Oct 8th, he apologizes, saying that he is really sorry and he has personal problems and will overnight the MO on tuesday.

Today is now the 15th of october. No PM's from him, no emails to the multiple PM/emails I sent him. And most importantly... no money for my CPU.

Maybe I am just having some really bad luck, but I thought I was in pretty good hands w/ somebody who has 260+ heat. I'd like to believe that 260+ heat means something and that he is just going through hard times.

If anybody can provide some assistance, I would greatly appreciate it.

are you sure it was actually HIS heatware account? email him through heatware and see if you get a reply.

yup.. its his heatware... he sent me paypal through his heatware email..

also..i talked to him on anandtech when he wouldn't respond here (which he hasn't signed on since the 4th).. and he has 4000+ posts there + a link to his heat.

He has been a long time trader on Anandtech and I did a transaction with him a couple of months ago. It went smoothly.

He hasn't logged on Anandtech since October 8th, but judging from his trading history, I would give him the benefit of the doubt and assume that what he says is true about his personal problems. I understand that me saying this doesn't give you your money, but I just wanted to give you a little assurance that he will come through.

Here's hoping for the best for both of you.

thanks.. i saw that he has a pretty decent heat history... but it seems like there is another person in the same boat as me on the anadtech forums.

Seems like he have a history of late on payment, so you might need to wait a while.

i did notice that.. and hence the reason i waited two weeks before having to call him out...

and its really not the late payment that bothers me... its his entire lack of communication...

Hey threeseven,

I just got an email from a friendlyfire through heatware. I've delt with Quino in the past, but quite frankly don't remember what I bought/sold on the top of my head. Apparently friendlyfire got screwed too.

Here's the thread friendlyfire was talking about: http://forums.anandtech.com/message...d=2099129&highlight_key=y&keyword1=wd5000aaks

Like I told him, I'll dig through my records and see if I can dig up anything for you guys.

<edit> Well, I wasn't able to dig up any other contact information. All I have is the name and address I shipped my old A64 3200+ to. I'll PM it to you if you'd like (Plano, TX address).

hey.. if you could PM that would be great... don't know if he moved or not.. but the address I sent the q6600 to is in El Paso, TX (which was a confirmed address on his paypal account, which is also the same as his heatware email).

you can also tell your friend friendlyfire to contact the mod at anandtech to alert him that he is having trouble w/ more than a few people

Sorry bout that, my memory apparently stinks. The address I have is also for El Paso, TX.

Anyhow, PM sent with the address I shipped my goods to. Also emailed friendlyfire asking him to contact anandtech mods meanwhile linking him to your threads.

Best of luck. :(

updating the thread....i was provided a phone number to call as there has been zero updates and zero communication coming from quino..

called him earlier tonight.. at around 7:30 pm CT, ... a lady picked up.. and said he wasn't home... took down my number and said he'll call back..

haven't heard anything back....

here's to hoping he's just in a financial rut.

I had a bad experience with Quino on Anand, I can PM you all the e-mail addresses I compiled, but it sounds like you could chase him down in person and he'd still just tell you he'll get to it soon. Anyway, I paypalled him for some memory which took him several days to say he shipped, then several more days to generate a usps tracking number and then several more days to agree that he would refund me the money since it had been three weeks since the first time he told me he had shipped it. Needless to say, it took him several days to actually refund the money. In spite of his positive heat history, it sounds like far too often this guy has trouble getting things out and doesn't merit such high heat. And that nonsense about not liking paypal sounds like an excuse to delay payment. Hope it all works out for you, but no matter what he does, I think it's long past time to give him negative heat. Cheers,

Jason
