So i currently built a new PC using 4 gigs (2x2gb) of A-DATA Gaming Series 1600 RAM.

My problem is that, whenever i first boot my PC up, i will get a BSOD 5 minutes later. I will then boot into safe mode and i won't BSOD at all, so i booth back into regular windows. After that i don't BSOD anymore. So i decided to run Memtest, but did not get errors the first time i ran it. But then i decided to wait a couple hours to boot again, since i only get BSODs after leaving my PC off for about 3 hours. I ran Memtest on my first bootup after 3 hours and got a bunch of errors.

I then rebooted my PC to run the test one more time just to make sure, but this time i didn't get any errors at all. Could somebody tell me whats going on. Could it be that my RAM is faulty or does it have to do something with my mobo?

Thanks

Please list out the specs of your new PC. Specify the exact model number of that RAM

Also, make sure that you manually set the RAM voltage.

Oh, here are my specs.

Motherboard:GIGABYTE GA-MA770T-UD3P AM3 AMD 770 ATX
CPU:AMD Phenom II X2 555 Callisto 3.2GHz Socket AM3 80W

PSU:Antec NEO ECO 520C 520W Continuous Power ATX12V v2.3 / EPS12V 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Power Supply

GPU:XFX HD-577A-ZNFC Radeon HD 5770 (Juniper XT) 1GB 128-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16

RAM:A-DATA Gaming Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model AX3U1600GB2G9-AG

Oh and i would like to add that i have not played with any settings other than manually setting my ram to 1600, since my Mobo defaults it at 1333

Set the RAM back to 1333 Speeds and see what happens.

Alright i'm going to have to wait a while tho since it only BSODs and errors on first bootup. so i gotta wait about 2 hours -_-

Okay so i just ran Memtest86 again this time on 1333. I still got errors. So i'm guessing that my RAM is faulty. So should i RMA or is there anything else i can check before deciding its the RAMs fault?

Manually set the RAM voltage to the recommended RAM voltage for that RAM.

So i was playing around with the voltages and timings all day, but whatever i did i would always get errors in Memtest. I guess i'm going to be RMAing these bad boys for a replacement.
