See update at the end of this post.

Hey guys, so here's the background:

I inquired about purchasing a Dell Ultrasharp 2209WA on 04/24/11. Here is the thread http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1603230
A few days later, on 04/27, I mailed a $160 money order to him. His heat is 70-0-0. He told me that he received it on May 4th. On May 9th, I asked if he had shipped it yet, and he said he shipped it via Fedex on May 6th (Friday). However, he didn't give me a tracking number with the pm like he said he would, and hasn't been online since May 9th (exactly 1 week). I haven't received anything from Fedex yet. I don't know how long it takes Fedex to deliver a package from Houston, TX to NYC, NY, but should it be taking this long?

I also tried contacting his google voice number but there was no answer. Has anyone who traded with him in the past experienced a week without communication from Devil24?

Thanks

FINAL UPDATE: ISSUE RESOLVED

The monitor arrived this afternoon, and the packing was superb. I just set the monitor up and it's a huge upgrade from what I had (19"). He also giving me an Amazon gift card for the delayed shipping.
Sometimes life just happens and problems come up. He really went out of his way to rectify the situation and I would recommend anyone who wants to buy from Devil24 in the future to have no reservations whatsoever.

Mods, please close this thread when you guys get the chance.

Don't give him the benefit of the doubt, yet. He's got good heat, so, consider that.

If your monitor has not arrived on Wednesday yet, be very alarmed.

I am guessing he shipped late or hasn't ship them gone around to doing so hence, no tracking was provided to you. However, he's got the past weekend to make his end of the bargain and make the ship. If Wednesday at the earliest or Thurday at the latest, your stuff hasn't arrived yet then you have all legitimate reasons to be alarmed.

I have shipped stuff within 48 and heavier and all have arrived to their new owners in 3 Days (Fedex Ground). If he used USPS then tracking is not that up to date. And if he used USPS Parcel, God forbid, then expect your stuff to be with you in 2 weeks top.

Late shipping is "my guess"!

if he mailed it with fedex home service, it might take over a week. shit is slow as hell.

fedex home is still 5business days max
if he ship out on the 6th, it should get to you on the 13th.
just wait couple days and then hopefully it will show up

Yeah, the only thing you can do is wait. Since you paid by money order to him, there's really nothing you can do, you don't have any protection.

He can still contact the persons local PD, since it involves money through the postal service it automatically becomes a felony (or probably federal offense).

If it isn't there in a few days give his PD a ring and just explain it to them and they can generally get in contact them to question them on it and that usually gets a persons attention.

shipping aside, I have a real problem with a seller with such good heat not communicating with the buyer AT ALL, that is a huge red flag imo, and is really, REALLY troubling...

he hasn't been even on forum for a week now. so I'm thinking he has so other issue. I bet you get your monitor by the end of the week.\

fedex ground/home is the slowest shit ever.

his last eval is interesting...

"Excellent communication, especially after a problem with fed ex may have caused the package to go missing, Devil24 sent a giftcard for a replacement from newegg at higher than the trade price so there would be less delay. Definitely a class act, even when taking a bit of a loss. Would do business with anytime."

I hope he's well and nothing has happened to him, this deal doesn't sound typical for him...

have a little patients, I took a header down the basement stairs and was late shipping out to my buyers, but I at least managed to keep them up to date with what was up..

even if you have a problem like I did, someone can always log in for you and leave a message as my wife and son did for me..

I do find this troubling..

Based on his Heat and that $160 isn't a huge dollar amount I would say give things a few more days. Something probably came up in his personal life and he hasn't been able to login to the [H] recently.

If he had low heat or the transaction was over $1,000 I would think it could be a problem, but I just don't see someone killing their Heat and future trading for $160. Hopefully things work out for both parties.

I bought my Win7 OS from him. Which is one of the riskiest things to buy off the forums and it still activates with MS till this day.
You can see I'm on the front page of his Heat, just give him a few more days. Friday or Monday is good, then take the action you need to protect your money if he doesn't respond.

That's good to hear, something probably did come up in his personal life. I don't mind waiting at all if I know that it's in transit with the tracking number.

Thanks, I hope it works out in the end.

I made this thread to get some advice, so I hope this thread didn't look like I was calling him out or anything, I was just a little bit concerned on the lack of communication, which based on his heat, is unusual. I hope everything is okay on his end.

I don't know.. the dates described aren't lining up. Despite what some people have said here, Fedex Home is very quick. From Florida to California, a 30lb box should take 5 days (tops) and only cost like $25. I just checked the time from Houston, TX to NYC, NY and it says 3 business days & around $20.

UPDATE:

Thanks to a fellow member on this forum I was able to contact the seller by email.

He informed me of his situation (serious family issue) that took up all his time and that he was finally able to ship it out on Monday. It should be here by the end of the week. I'll have a last update for you guys soon.

hopefully this will work out, but lying about the situation is still a huge red flag imo, that was not cool...
