Here are the answers to the questions, didn't even notice them but I like the idea. I assume no one likes the AMD CPUs anymore and although I have built with them for years, Intel is an option.

A single 4870 1 GB can easy handle a 24" display and no need for aftermarket heatsink. If you don't plan on overclocking.
 
Is Crossfire worth it? I have a 4850 I could get a second of and use Crossfire but really not convinced it would be worth it.

I like the system you put together. Anyone know how it would compare to the one in my sig?

Is quad core worth it on AMD or Intel?

I put together one on Newegg with an Intel CPU as well but it was a bit more but not much. AMD V Intel is still a question.

My thoughts on Crossfire and SLI:

lt_shiro's PC would outperform your sig PC very well. However I do not think that the X2 7750 would be a huge jump in performance to justify the cash.

Oh and ditch the Green drive (probably slower than the Blue 640GB):

7750 Kuma is about as fast as my current e6400 overclocked to 2.7 GHz.

Kuma is best in its price class, once you are not overclocking the CPU.
