I looked around a little and didn't see what I was looking for, so does anyone have any suggestions on places to go for having a custom window cut out of plexi?
 
make it yourself! i get everything i need at onlinemetals.com cuz its a couple miles from my house. you may have something similar near you. they have the materials, you just need a dremel, some measuring tools, and your imagination! :p but seriously, have you considered doing it yourself or do you def want it done for you?
 
home depot- sheet of 1/16 plexiglass less 10 bucks, and a scoring knife is 5 your good to go then, if you need round corners then a dremel or jig saw and sand paper is what you need.
 
+1 for home depot. it's all back next to the screen doors usually. Tons of sizes, color, and thickness
 
I need it to be pretty exact, mounting holes for the window and for the rad attached. I think I might have a solution, but I have to ask my friend. In the mean time, is it going to be buko bucks to have anything custom done? I asked at TAP plastics and they wanted 100$ minimum charge!! *__*
 
a window shop or store should have some i just get stuff from my mom since she works in a window shop
 
for drilling the holes, just lay it down on a sheet of plywood and lay the rad, fan, w/e on top of it and drill right through those holes. all custom shops will charge you way too much for this job. if you dont feel comfortable doing it, then maybe find a friend with more experience with this stuff?

Did I mention the plastic will be on the outside of the case? Its an SG-01 and they're designed kind of funny like that.
 
I kind of like it when the plexi is on the out side, i'm considering doing mine on the out side. But then i won't be able to use strong double sided tape. So i'm not sure what external mounting system i should use and still keep that industrial look of my HAF.

www.mnpctech.com very cool website, you can send them your plexi and they will cut it for you , they also have an extensive video section on "how to" do it yourself mods.

Give them a try.
 
+1 for doing it yourself , if you have a Lowe's Hardware store near you they even cut the plexi to size so you won't need a tool to cut the plexi then just cut the case

I really like SHCS (socket head cap screws) for an industrial look, I'm pretty sure I'm going to use those for the window when it goes on.

I won't be cutting the case at all, case "panel" is staying stock. I think I might have Lowes or whoever cut to the approx size so i can get it square and then do the interior cut myself.

Update:
Hokay, I bit the bullet and shopped around at lunch. Lowes had some big stuff and small stuff, but nothing in the size I needed. Drove over to Home Crepo and checked it out over there. Not only was one of the people there helpful in telling me where the Lexan was located, but he stopped me to ask me if I needed help looking for something. You don't get that with today's apathetic youth and it saddens me.
Anyway, I Picked up a 10"x20"(?abouts?) piece of Lexan at 1/8" thickness. It's thin, but I think it will work well. I'm just kind of worried what the edge will look like on the outside of the case... It is thin enough where I could probably just put it on the Inside of the case now... Would probably end up looking a lot better anyway, and then I could use some of the window molding I have.

Now, any tips/tricks for cutting out a design like this and taping mounting holes for both the window and rad that are going to be mounted to it?

You can drill Lexan with a regular bit. For acrylic use a Forstner bit, or you run a very high chance of cracking around the hole site.
 
are you sure you want to mount a rad on the window? this is a removable side panel right? that you have to take off to get to basically anything inside the computer? this means that you will have to connect the tubing to it while it is unattached to the case, with extra long tubing. then you will put the side panel on the case, and that extra tubing will have to go somewhere. unless you have a huge full tower case, this will be a HUGE pita. like you cant imagine. just having a couple fans on my side panel is super annoying. i cant imagine having a heavy radiator (+fans w/fan wiring?) and the not-very-pliable tubing all on the side panel and trying to get that thing in place EVERY time i need to get into the case to add a hard drive or change out the water in the loop etc.

just something you should really think about. i may be misunderstanding your plans, but if i understand you correctly, you may want to seriously reconsider placement on the side panel.
