Several years ago I made a very bad deal with my wife. I get to pick all components, she gets to pick the cases. I had no idea at that time being newly married just how bad her tastes run...

Money being no object, did she choose a Lian-Li or a CoolerMaster? No, she chose a Guardian. When the UPS driver dropped it off he asked if it was a video game for my kids (it said "Ready For Battle!!!! all over the box) I'm embarrassed when friends come over for Lan parties. They start making robot noises and say to each other "Are you ready for battle?" "Yes I am ready for battle!" "Beep, Beep," groan...

So now we're upgrading again. Please tell me that the Guardian doesn't have enough airflow for 2X Raptors + 8800GTS. The case only has 3 small fans so I'm genuinely worried about heat considering how hot those components run.

So I'm hoping I'll have to upgrade to a real case with better airflow. What do you guys think? Will it be ok or do I really need a new case?

My wife is determined to keep this thing forever. She says she wants all of our computers to look like robots. :( She says that considering how much I blow on hardware a year, she should at least be able to choose the cases.

If you tell me that they just released a new Guardian case with better airflow I'll shed tears...

Don't have any idea about guardians, but NZXT has some robot-like cases that do well in terms of cooling/price. :)

Simple, attach flame throwers and more to your computer and make them able to be remote controlled and driven around. You'll be ready for battle then! :p

Dude to hell with the case, hell get little robots and glue em all over it if it makes her happy, and fill it with kick ass hardware and frag the crap out of your smart ass buddies. I wouldnt care if it looked like a flower pot if I could get an 8800 in it.


yes, you have problems, you need a case with 120mm intake and 120mm exhaust.

Sooo that means yes the Guardian will not do, you will have to step up to the ..... ta da !

Better take a look at the power supply in regards to that new hardware if it is the one that came with the guardian.

You know what? I want to know why everyone hates NZXT. I had the guardian a li'l bit back and I can honestly say that I loved it. Easy installation, not too pricy, excellent airflow, light. I just loved the LED's too. Great case.

What your beafs about NZXT cases?
 
This thread is one of the funniest things I've read in awhile.

Least your wife is down with computers in general.

I suggest the NZXT Adamas. It's got just the right amount of class and "power ranger-esque" shape to make both of you happy :p
 
My woman is down w/ gaming / computers she buys me hardware lol and picked out a pimp case. Dude you need to trade in your girl :p JK!

What a better time to mod your case. Make her the UbER rOb0T case.
