I know this is probably the wrong board but I recently acquired this program called Antivirus XP 2008 that is a spyware/ scam. I dont know how I picked it up, but I really need to know how to get rid of it. Any help on this would be much appreciated.
 
Its not the right board (I don't think we even have software stuff here?) but you'll want to run a real anti-spyware/virus program from a reputable brand.
 
Run an antispyware program like Stopzilla or Spyware Doctor. These are pretty good. But, you have to pay for these though to remove the spyware. Try using Spybot Search & Destroy. This is free.

FUCK!

Had a client come in with a PC infected with that very same VIRUS. The Virus fucked up the OS so bad, had to do a complete reformat and reinstall. It's also one of the reasons why I no longer trust AVG as an decent anti-virus.
