I need some help. Below are screen shots of my 2x 24/7 Q6600's. I run the GPU2 client on core #3 and the WCG clients on cores #0, #1 and #2. Both boxen are stock Q6600 G0's (2.40 Ghz) and WC'ed with a MCR220 rad and 2x shrouded Yate Loon HS fans pulling under a Sunbeam fan controller. They both have a MCP350 pump with the stock top and a bowed Apogee GT. I know the VGA cards I have are lower tier, but I was just messing around with WC'ing the GPU (for my first time). I was hoping to get a top tier card like a GTXxxx or maybe a ATI card. (which ever is best at the time) The first pics are a Q6600 stock + a low TPD eVGA 8800GS with the shaders OC'ed to 1620. It has a MCW60 WB and 3/8" inch tubes. The second pics are a stock Q6600 + a low TDP eVGA 9600GSO. The 9600GSO has the AccelS1 Rev2 VGA AC'er I took off the 8800.
What's troubling me is I set the Real Temp to a 105c degree TJ Max on both CPU's. The GPU's are read by Precision from the eVGA site. I have the rads, pumps, rezes and fans in an external cases on the window sills. (empty cat litter buckets ) I have temporarily ducted the external cat litter buckets with cardboard and duct tape (I love my duct tape, a computer enthusiasts friend ) I placed a indoor/outdoor thermometer in the duct and with the window crack open it reads between 10c and 15c degrees. What I was wondering do these temp even look accurate (ignoring the 9c degree reading, no way it's under the ambient, must be sorry reading) On the eVGA 9600GSO AC'er the ambient temp is about 68f (18c or so, another indoor/outdoor thermometer)
Hell, if you guys
and gals think these temps are even remotely accurate I think I'll start WC'ing the GPU's all the time. (I love my H2O coolin' ) I got the MCW60 WB for my fire breathing PNY 8800GT, but I screwed it up with those crumby stick on HS's. I'd never use anything but a 1 piece HS from now on or, if I'm flush, a full cover WB
Please tell me what you think even if it's telling me my sensors are bogus. Both boxen are crunching as I post, I really don't know what the straight idle would be
