Which one would you guys recommend for this set up: Cooler Master 690II Advanced, i7-3770, Asus P8Z77-V, 16gb DDR3 G.Skill Ares 1600, Samsung 830 128gb SSD, Generic DVD burner, and probably a GTX 670 later on. I do not plan to SLI either.

Corsair TX-650M

Antec BP550 Plus

Rosewill HIVE-750

Seasonic M12II 620

I am leaning towards the Corsair right now but the Antec and Rosewill are 15% off eligible right now.

My vote goes for the Seasonic first and the Corsair is a close second.

Neither, you can have an NZXT Hale82 for similar money, and it's better than all of them.

That was a sample specific issue, the Hale82 850 was reviewed by TPU, [H] and HS under similar conditions(45°C or more) and it did very well(as expected from the platform, though the 850W is not as good as the 650/750W versions).

Ahh totally missed the HardOCP review. So it does appear to be a sample specific issue. However, the NZXT HALE82 costs $106 shipped from Newegg. The Seasonic, the best one out of the four listed, costs $90 shipped. While the NZXT Hale82 does have better performance than the Seasonic M12II from what I can tell, I don't think the NZXT Hale82 is worth the extra $26 for it. The Seasonic still offers in-spec performance.

So I would recommend the Seasonic.

The Hale82 650 is 80$ after rebate while 750 is 90$ after rebate also :)

The Hale82 series is identical to the M12II Bronze 650/750/850 but they cost considerably less... they're also identical to the TXv2 650/750/850 and XFX Core 650/750/850, but the XFX and Corsair versions are not modular.

Hello:

I'm new to posting here, but I have put together a number of systems for clients and my children.

I have currently 4 systems at home all running Corsair PSUs.
My daughter's computer is really the home workhorse and has had a Corsair HX-650 (it's one of the first modular 650W they made.....maybe 4 or so years old) running solidly for all those years.

I really appreciate the excellent customer service I've had at Corsair (no PSU issues) if that's worth anything to you.:D

Welcome to the forum, you'll feel right at home here, we have a solid base of Corsair marketing victims and employees relentlessly spamming every thread.

I am neither of those, sir.:D

I do accept that there are a number of good PSU manufacturers out here in the world of hardware. I was just giving my 2 cents worth.

But I also appreciate customer service agents that speak english as their first language.

Don't mind Profumo, he's a disgruntled NZXT rep.

The Corsair and Seasonic are very similar units and both very good. I'd avoid the Rosewill Hive series, its not a particularly well built unit built by a lower end OEM (Sirtec). I don't know much about the Antec other then its a Delta unit and that it seems to be over rated based on its 12v amperage.

Thanks for your suggestions guys. It sounds like you guys are leaning towards the Seasonic which was my 2nd choice before this. Just one last question before I go with the Seasonic, would you guys still prefer it over the Corsair if they were the same price?

To the guys suggesting the NZXT, I haven't really dealt with them in the past so I would prefer the Seasonic which I know is a reliable brand. I appreciate the suggestion though.

This is why I love hardforum, everyone is very friendly and willing to help.

You have a 10 buck difference after MIR? If I read it correctly.
Both are free shipping and both are quality units.
Both are modular.:D

To me it would come down to customer service.
Don't know if you'd ever need it on a PSU, I haven't......but who knows.

I would strongly suggest to go with Corsair because they have the best qu... Oh shit they found out! Evacuate!

but yeah...
NZXT Hale = S12IIM

Why not just get the Rosewill Capstone like every other American? That superflower unit is the best you can get right now there, and it's also price competitive (just compare to the hale 90...). Also, I don't understand the Hive series. And why would you get a 750w PSU if you do not plan to SLI? I'm so confused here...

The issues with the 850W AT's are not sample specific. Every unit based on the particular iteration I have had has had some issue. The 850W rating is just on the edge of what it can do mostly reliably.

Haha because the Capstones are OOS and the 750w Hive is just $5 more than the 650w version so it would be more future proof if I chose to sli, quad-sli, etc.
I've decided to go with the Seasonic since it's $10 cheaper and comparable in quality to the Corsair.

Corsair generally uses Seasonic and CWT power supplies. They don't make their own.
