ok so i have some movies on my hard drive that i want to put on to CD's and play them on a dvd player.

i have nero, and dvd2svcd but when i try to open up the file (~700mb .avi) dvd2svcd says it doesnt have a codec or something.

i really just need to know how to make it into 2 files that are less than 700mb and will play on a DVD player.

i also don't want to use DVD-R's.

please any help would be greatly appriciated.

ok so basically what i need is an avi to svcd converter that will let me break it up into multiply >700mb files.

Are you talking about DIVX files? I'd just get some cheap DVD-R's and get a DIVX certified DVD player.

yea im talking about divx and also xVid but i have a surplus of cd-r's and no dvd-r's

LOL...I know that feeling :). I believe the Phillips Divx/DVD player also supports Xvid, but I'm not positive on that. My family has 2 or 3 of the Phillips DVD players and they work fine (and only cost like $50 or so).
