Got mine! Getting it through Fi worked for me! I'm trading in my OnePlus 8T+ for $155 for a Pixel 6 Pro.

EDIT: They just cancelled my order.

They offered me $65 for my Pixel 2 XL and $405 I think for my Pixel 5. Really tempted to order the 6 Pro, but I'm good with my 5 until a BF sale or until they can throw in some freebies at least. I'll prolly be handing my 5 down to the wife to replace her old Note 9.

Wonder if I could get one faster just walking into Best Buy on release day Oct. 28 and buy it right there on the spot?

Big Nexus / Pixel fan, but this ordering process has turned me off. Really upset that Google a huge company has such a piss poor purchasing situation.

I'm just gonna wait now, maybe see what they look like in person in the store first. As I'm sort of on the fence between the 6 and 6 Pro.

I wonder if it's Google screwing up their store frontend, or if it's that popular...

Google just screwed up. They don't deserve the benefit of the doubt given their history. It would cost them so little to devote more server resources for the store just for a couple hours today but yet this happens.

I just realized I have no reason to order from the Google web store if they don't have the color I want. I'm going to cancel this and order it from my carrier instead since it'll be black anyway and I'll get a small discount.

I'd lean towards a Google store problem. Yesterday, my MBP 14 order sailed through Apple's online store without the slightest hitch.

Best Buy told me they will have the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro available for in store purchase on October 28.
They will also have demos of both phones for customers to play with. I like that because I can judge the Pixel 6 Pro curve screen in person.

Did any of you utilize the Trade In credit? Google offered me $175 for my Pixel 4 XL.

I thought about it, but with all of the issues, I didn't want to chance it. Seems the going rate for an S20+ is between $325-400, so I'll probably hunt for the best deal

I totally forgot about the Pixel Buds, though. I'm going to hit up support and see what they can arrange. Probably tomorrow since they are slaaaaamed right now. I honestly don't need them, but it never hurts to have spare earbuds. Especially decent ones.

Did you mean the going rate on the open market, or the going rate on the Google Store?
Google is offering an estimated trade in value of $370 for an S20+ that Turns On/Screen Works/No Cracks .

* Trade in estimate
Your estimate will be confirmed at checkout. The actual value will depend on your device's condition.

Just looking at sites that buy used phones. I saw Gazelle was showing $392, so that's the plan as soon as the Pixel 6 shows up...and hopefully isn't broken.

very torn to preorder, buy in store or wait. When i bought my 3xl i got a google fi credit for the full purchase price of the phone so basically no phone bill for the next 2 years give or take. Would love to see a similar offer on the 6 but i doubt they will be doing anything like that again. i hate having to make choices like this. might have to just flip a coin or something to make this decision.

I should have mentioned that the $370 Google credit would apply if you were to buy a Pixel 6 Pro.
The trade in credit for purchasing a Pixel 6 is lower, $334.

I'm on T-Mo. In areas that I get 5G UC, my iPhone gets 600 Mbps down and 60 up. This is pretty darn amazing. I don't think I could get a new phone without mmWave modem.

Pixel 6 does not have it unless you get the special Verizon version provided that you're on Verizon. Pixel 6 Pro would be the only model I would consider (to get for my Dad - who hates apple). I'm going to wait a few weeks for the inevitable black friday sale.

Just realize that best buy has a Black Friday guarantee. So I'm pre-ordering now.

Huh, so interestingly enough - I went in, cancelled my previous order, and added the Pixel buds to a second order. It went through just fine. My case is now showing up 2 days later, but I'm shocked that actually worked.

These are very expensive basic level phones. No headphone jack or advanced audio DAC, no IR Blaster, no MicroSD card expansion.

It has fixed memory, a decent processor, ok screen and supposedly great camera.

IMHO, you could save a lot and sacrifice just a little and be happier.

Google could have brought us a flagship phone, instead, a yawner.

Finally was able to easily place an order a few hours after the event. Pixel 6 Pro Cloudy White due in Oct 29 - 30. I hope I didn't make a mistake getting the Pro? I'm not a fan of curved edge displays. And it is a BIG phone. But I really wanted 120hz refresh rate and bright top quality screen. Those chunky thick bezels on the regular 6 sort of turned me off, but hope I don't hate the Pro's rounded edge. But 90hz I already have on my Pixel 4 XL, want to try something new and fresh.

https://9to5google.com/2021/10/19/pixel-6-hands-on-impressions/

The displays, too, leave a great first impression. The 6.4-inch 1080p panel on the Pixel 6 is good, offering enough brightness and solid overall colors, but the QHD+ display on the 6.7-inch Pro is truly stunning. Speaking completely anecdotally and with barely 24 hours of use, I can say confidently this is the best display on a Pixel to date by a long shot, and it feels in line with what Samsung is putting out there. The 120Hz refresh rate on the Pixel 6 Pro is quick and super smooth.

The Pro model has polished aluminum rails around the sides and curved glass on the front. The standard Pixel 6 has a flat display with bigger bezels and a matte black finish on the sides. Especially after using both phones in person, I’m a much bigger fan of the look of the Pixel 6 over the Pro model. It feels nicer in the hand, and curved displays remain the worst trend in mobile tech, and I’m beyond disappointed that Google has joined the wrong camp with its Pro model.

The Pro seems great, but I don't want/need a phone that large. My current S20+ is almost exactly the same size and it's inconveniently large. I know the size difference isn't enormous, but even a little bit makes a difference when you carry the phone in your pocket. Plus, I know I'll never use the other lens or nicer front camera. If you're a more serious photographer or want/need a larger device, different story. Ditto if you care about mobile gaming, too.

I LOVE flat screen phones, and that Seafoam green color is just super cool. I'm afraid I made the wrong decision getting the Pro.

But I did want 120hz refresh rate to really have something new and fast, and the screen quality too is said to just be of a higher quality and nicer display than the regular Pixel 6.

But worst case, i just saw that T-Mobile, my carrier will have the Pixel 6 line, and as of right now is shipping Oct. 27th, I might just wait to see that in person at the store, and if I love it, just pay cash in full at the store for one, it's only $599.

Same for me on flat screens, but I still want to try the 6 Pro for the reasons you listed. I'll return it for the 6 if my disdain for curved screen persists.

It may not fast charge though. That needs USB-PD, not Oneplus's proprietary fast-charging.

I noticed one thing I may hate: the position of the NFC antenna is on the lower half of the phone rather than near the top:
https://support.google.com/pixelphone/answer/7157629?hl=en#zippy=,pixel-pro

It forces you to tap the entire phone on the reader instead of just tapping the top. Combined with no face-unlock, it makes for a very awkward procedure to unlock using the front fingerprint reader before switching grips to tap the NFC.

Just ordered this to be on the safe side.. Needed one anyways.

Definitely the way to go is to see both phones in the store.

In the presentation they made many references to it's offline capabilities. I wonder how much storage these features take up? Being able to AI translate 30 languages has to take a chunk. 128GB might have been a bad choice.

What is the total GB capacity on your present phone and how much of that is used?

Stream all my music and don't keep huge number of photos on the phone so I'm not that worried. People who can just get by with 128 on a regular phone might find it to be a problem. Hopefully the reviews will cover it.
