Phenom Overclocking / performance

I wish I could say the same, but I have to wait until Feb or March to get that ball rolling. :( Worse yet, most purchases over 300~ have to be ok'd with the wife. I am dying to grab one now and a AM2+ mobo, but know I'll be severly disapointed with the overclocking outcome, based off current data available.Me needs a Black Edition Phenom, and me needs it NOW !! Oh,and some newer bios releases that dont cripple overclocking!!
You seem to be in a bit of a rush to get a Phenom system running. After the reviews went online, I was under the impression you wanted to wait for the next stepping..?

I think he was talking about someone else on another forum who was going to post Phenom OC results (hence the "spill the beans comment"), not Duby or SCali.

I completely understand. I was interested in a dual Barcelona setup, but since I OC as high as possible on air 24/7, I think it would be wise to wait for a better, more stable stepping. Also, there is some concern about full compatibility with certain older socket-F boards making it a hit-or-miss ATM. I might even go quad, so I don't want to take any chances.

Nevertheless, if only mild OC are going to be the order of the day, then by all means purchase a Phenom system. I'm curious about what yours or anyone else's overall opinions will be. :)

When I do get the cpu and board,I will be sure to run myriad tests and take and post pics.

:)

I am hoping for 2.8Ghz ~ I would be happy with that.

That Gigabyte board and especially the Asus look great, but data suggest current bios's for them are sub par.AOD works great with X2's but seems to fall short with K10's in the wild.

Common AMD !! :D

I heard the gb doesn't oc nearly aswell as the DFI or the MSI, DFI seems to get X2s to 510 HTT, and MSI ~500, gb? high 200s
