like this
-Phantom Blade Zero will be about 35-40 hours long for players who are experienced with action games

-Boss fights are tough, but, unlike in a FromSoftware Soulslike, there are checkpoints between phases. If you defeat a boss’ first phase but falter in the second, you can tackle the fight from the midway point on your next attempt

-If you lower the difficulty to easy mode, you can’t go back up

-Phantom Blade Zero is a largely linear game, but there are some light Metroidvania elements

-More than 30 weapons will be available with 20 more Phantom Edges, which are more akin to special attacks than usable weapons

Game has 4 difficulty options may be some hope for me.

The Good:
-Wuxia-inspired combat captures the genre's frenetic, free-flowing action
-Simultaneous attack and defense is woven into its mechanics
-Extensive arsenal of varied weapons
-Unique aesthetic is explored through interesting locations that are a treat to explore

The Bad:
-The story is tough to follow and difficult to care about
-Standard enemies are too easy to defeat and lead to tedium

Did they say the Boss fights are too hard? I'm fine with easy trash mobs looks ok but I have about 8 other souls like games I should finish first.

1. Day-one patch
We rushed to prepare a day-one patch before launch, approximately 5 GB in size.

It can significantly improve ray-tracing and path-tracing performance, as well as fix some bugs.

If you have already preloaded the game, you can download this additional update before launching it.

If you haven't preloaded the game, downloading it directly will give you the latest version.

2. Lighting and graphics improvements
We spent a considerable amount of time improving the game's artistic presentation and lighting.

Even with ray tracing disabled, the game's environmental art style can still be presented beautifully.

The experience on midrange and low-end hardware, including handheld gaming devices, has also undergone extensive testing.

We encourage everyone to give it a try.

3. NVIDIA driver recommendation
We discovered that NVIDIA's latest 621.01 driver exhibits unstable performance in certain situations.

After testing, we found that driver version 617.42 currently provides the best compatibility with Shadow Blade Zero.

If you've already updated to a version newer than 617.42, you can select the corresponding older version from NVIDIA's recent driver releases and perform a clean reinstall.

Alternatively, you can wait for NVIDIA's next driver update, which we believe will be released soon

The Steam Forums are so Skeptical about this game to the point where nobody accepts it. I think they tried pulling off Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon but got this instead.

I am really excited for this game. But....may wait a couple of weeks to play it. I'm still playing two other 2026 games right now. Annnnnnd I also started a new playthrough of Elden Ring. Yeah, got myself stretched a little thin....

I guess it depends upon what you want from a game.

Lots of people do not like how difficult many soulslikes and character action games, are.

I haven't actually played PBZ, yet. But, based on some reviews and also watching part of Maxdood's ongoing live stream:

I would say the game overall, is medium difficulty. Max (whom loves soulslikes and character action games) has died a few times. But, he is not dying a dozen times in a row, or something.

The game also has difficulty options. And the highest difficulty is the sort of thing I want more games to do: It doesn't add more enemy health and damage. Instead, enemies fight more dynamically, with less predictable patterns. And potentially seeing patterns in your own approach.
