I skipped 2k23 since it seemed very similar to 2k21 but I will likely be getting it this year. The demo felt good.

The game is out now but they significantly nerfed the rate of progression for leveling up your character as of yesterday. Also in that patch they changed the swing mechanics so it feels quite a bit more difficult on Pro difficulty and above compared to the demo and the paid early access period.

I bought from GreenManGaming so I am stuck with it, but others might want to buy from steam directly in case they don’t like the changes.

thnx, good to know. i think im waiting for a sale, $90CAN is a bit steep when the last was only $60(base game). ill just add to my 500+ hours in '23...

What is the point of levelling up in such a game? Isn't it all skill based?

No. You level to improve your characters attributes and equipment unlocks. Then once you are max level and the meta has been analyzed everyone uses the same build and it becomes skill based.

It has been that way in sport games for a while unfortunately.

So this is an online multiplayer game? There is no offline campaign?

There is offline mode, but you use the same character in offline and online so there is still incentive to level up your stats to maximum unless you enjoy the challenge of using an unlevelled character.

Otherwise there is casual online, ranked online, user made leagues and official online tournaments.

What's the difference if you don't level up? Can you level up playing offline? I assume you level up by playing, so can you even avoid leveling up?

had to get it for the 4th
