So i have a 3.4 with ht. and a 2.8 d core. Which one will be faster. And will windows alta vista take control of the multicore cpus?
 
Retail edge intel bundle from last year and this year eh? The 3.4 will be faster in a bunch of apps but the 2.8 d will be faster in many cases running multiple apps at once.
 
I would say that the Pentium D will be better suited for Vista.

for ex in games the 3.4 will be faster, but in PS or AV stuff the D will be faster
