Perhaps this is a dumb question....

I was looking a bit at the Go 6800 Ultra when it struck me.
Here we have a accordingly to [H]ardOCP's Go 6800 Ultra review:
NVIDIA GeForce Go 6800 Ultra:

The core features of the GeForce Go 6800 include an architecture that is familiar to its desktop GeForce 6800 series counterpart. The GeForce Go 6800 has 12 pixel-pipelines and 5 vertex units,...

and
The GeForce Go 6800 Ultra runs at a much higher 450MHz frequency, which gives it 5.4 gigapixels per second of fillrate. The memory specification allows a clock speed up to 1.1GHz with GDDR3.

Compared this to the 6800Ultra:
GeForce 6800/Ultra Roundup

GeForce 6800Ultra = 256MB GDDR3, 16 pipelines, 6 vertex units, 400MHz/1.1GHz

So we got a 12 pipe card, giving similar and/or better preformance to a 16 pipe card.
So would a G70 if based on the same pipes as in the Go 6800 Ultra, but with 24 pipes, not be about 2 x as fast at the 6800 Ultra?

Terra - I should I just back to sleep again? (hungover ;) *L*)

ati's chip is rumored to be 32 pipes so i expect nvidia to be 32 pipes.

performance should be about double last generation if i had to guess.
