I've been running my Pentium D 915 for a few weeks now. I heard these chips are suppose to be good overclockers so I thought I'd give it a shot. Board I'm running is Asus P5VDC-X and yes the overclocking options in the bios are limited unless they've been moved to other places in the bios and I'm just not seeing them. I got the machine to boot at 210fsb (no Vcore adjustments because it doesn't exsist unless I'm looking in the wrong place). Then I tried 220 and it booted fine at 3.07GHz into windows. Played my games fine. At 225fsb the machine does not even post. This board has AGP and PCI-e and currently I'm running an AGP BFG 6800GS 256, and 2x512mb Samsung DDR2 533mhz sticks. The PCI-e even though I'm not using it has a setting of sync or async so I tried both with to no avail. So now I'm wondering if my memory is holding me back. I havn't had a chance to take out one stick and see if it's one particular stick that's holding me back. What do you think? As for the memory options in the bios, maybe I'm looking in the wrong place. Under CPU options it lets me choose Async/Sync for PCI-e, it lets me choose the FSB speed, and thats about it. Any ideas? Surly this CPU must be able to hit past 3.07.
