Remember to put my name down as your referral!
BFG Technologies and NVIDIA will have a huge 20 x 40 booth at PDXLAN 5 as well as a free t-shirt for every person who comes to the LAN Party. PDXLAN will be giving over $100,000 in prizes away to the 1,000 attendees. Over 25 BFG cards, 30 Intel Extreme Edition Processors, and tons of more stuff.
Official Tournaments will be:
8 v 8 Battle Field 2
5 v 5 Counter Strike Source
3 v 3 Unreal Tournament CTF
1 v 1 UT2k4 Deathmatch
1 v 1 RTS (TBD)
1 v 1 RTS2 (TBD)
There are also tons of fun contests to enter and win big. This past event BFG Technologies Sponsored a fun talent show, a BF
irates contest, Video Challenge and gave away a total of 20+ graphics cards to the attendees! WOW.
PDXLAN always has a first class custom case mod contest as well as other fun things like hard drive shuffleboard, tug-o-war and other challenges.
As I said before, PDXLAN HAS ALWAYS SOLD OUT - If you want to come, if you want to get your team in to the LAN, the time to register for the LAN is NOW. PDXLAN already has over 530 people registered for this LAN and it is 4 months away!! The cost is 50.00 for 4 longs days of frag goodness, unlimited ICE COLD soda, $100,000 in prizes, free gift bags for everyone, free NVIDIA/BFG TECH shirts for everyone - it will be the LAN PARTY OF THE YEAR.
Some of you may notice that the date is the same day as Quakecon. Well, that's ok, because QuakeCon is nothing like a real LAN Party. Its where the Pro's go and win, not the gamers like most of us here. You might get a T-shirt there, but overall, we know you will have a better time at PDXLAN 5.
If I haven't convinced you yet, check out these quotes from some attendees:
What are People saying about PDXLAN events?
PDXLAN was a lot of fun. It was one of the few lans I've been to where they had zero network, power, or even steam problems. Everything worked flawlessly, and even the tournaments completed on time.
I've been to quakecon, pdxlan 3.04, MML, TXGF (texas gaming fest), northwest frag fest, everlan and a few other 500+ people lans. PDXLAN 4.05 was one of the most well run lans of any of those. I didn't see any power problems, no network problems (steam even worked!), and all the admins were super friendly and security did a good job. All schedules were adhered to, and admins didn't play in tournaments. The huge variety of events both official and unofficial made it so there was something fun for everyone.

If I had a choice of Quakecon, CPL and PDXLAN, I'd choose PDXLAN.

The tournaments were run very well and almost precisely on schedule... that was great! The network was nice and stable. No virus/trojan outbreaks. Power freaked me out at first, but I didn't see any problems with it all weekend. The addition of internet was awesome. I loved the carball and pirates contests. Shuffleboard kicked tug-o-war's butt!... and the sponsorship was incredible!

PDXLAN is all about the people. PDXLAN has AWSOME contests with AWSOME prizes for those contests... practically everyone walked away with a prize. That said I am going to PDXLAN 5.

We Hope to see you there - at the largest LAN PARTY ON THE WEST COAST! THE MOST SPONSORED LAN PARTY IN NORTH AMERICA!
(Excuse me if I sound over zealous about PDXLAN - if you know me, you know why)
