PCIe based device not working

Dear all,

Well I am new to this forum and am a research assistant at a university and currently dealing with FPGAs.

The issue I want to post here is that we have bought the PCIe-link-based card, It has FPGA where I can program my algorithms. But the device is undetected by my computer (ASRock-extremeX4) while processor is i7.

I tried it on another PC, ASUS-P7P55d, but it works there. (main computer is the ASRock extremeX4). But I want to know what is the problem.
Earlier it was not working at all even at any computer, we send it the manufacturer for claiming warranty and they assure us it is working fine...
We have tried things for about 2 months or more and are stuck with this problem...If some one has some idea with this problem of PCIe devices please share your experience.
I can give details of problem as well.

It might just be a compatibility issue between that AsRock and that card. Really not much you can do about besides asking AsRock how to fix it. However to make sure that it's more than likely a compatibility issue, try that card with a third motherboard.

However, what PSU do you have with that main PC?
 
You are stuck with which problem? That it does not work at all or that it does not work in the ASRock-extremeX4?

I am completely shooting in the dark here as I have no idea what an FPGA is* (so the following may be silly questions) but if it is something that plugs into a PCIe slot then then it is probably something that needs a driver. Does the manufacturer suggest a driver for the card? Is there one?

What operating system are you using? Is the operating system different between the one with the ASUS-P7P55d mobo and yours? Does this FPGA PCIe card have any additional power requirements? Meaning any additional sockets for that would require cables from the power supply?

(*I do now...or at least I looked it up. I still have no real idea though)
