PCI Sata Controller

So, I have an old Dual P3 system that I am going to use for a windows Home Server machine. I need some suggestions on 2-3 PCI Sata cards. I do not need any type of Raid Support, because Windows Home Server does its own thing as far as hard drive shares. Anyone have some suggestions?

I was going to start the server with a 500 gig OS drive, and maybe throw in a couple TB drives as i need the space. Anyone have any suggestions? Under $50 bucks would be nice if possible.

Is the $50 for each PCI controller card or $50 altogether?

If only your budget was a bit higher, this would've been a good choice:
SuperMicro AOC-SAT2-MV8 64-bit PCI-X133MHz 8 Port SATA Controller Card - $94

And yes PCI-X is backwards compatible with PCI.

I run a Promise SATA controller in my machine, works great but that Supermicro card is a hell of a value at only $94 for 8 ports (says 7 internal).
My card was about $80 when I bought it a few years back, probably $30-50 for an equivalent one now, 2 SATA and 1 IDE.

I used a couple of these when I put my fileserver together:

4 ports and it supports software RAID 0/1/5. Its not as fast as the nicer cards, but you don't need real hardware RAID and you're going to be limited by the network transfer speeds anyway.
