Hi everyone :), well first of all sorry for my english , is not the best. ( Im from Peru )

Well, this is very frustrating, my pc shut down and restart itself ramdomly, this occur since january. There are no blue screens or any message , it just happens. I've tried to verify if this is caused by some virus or malware, did a scan with Norton Antivirus and Anti-Malware, both in Safemode of course.
After this my pc seemed to work fine for about 1 week, then... the same problem again.., shut downs and restarts , like 2 or 3 times. You know, the wierdest thing of this is that the spontaneous restarts mostly occurs when i boot the system, it can restart 3 or 4 times, in the desktop or even after the Bios screen. Oh and i realized that this problem happen in the morning, and always the first time of the day that I boot the pc.
After all this restarts occur my pc seems to work fine, yesterday i've been playing Battlefield 3 for about 3 hours and nothing happened, everything was OK. Also I run 3dmark11 and Unigine Heaven several times to see if my videocard was the problem, but it was fine. CPu overclock is also fine because i always run LinX (20 times) and Prime 95 and there are no errors. What do you think is the problem ? :/ Think i should try with another Ram ??

Please respond and again, sorry for my english xd... , thank you very much.

You may need to run more extensive tests -- like 16-24 hours of Prime 95 / LinX to see the issue. And are you sure you're not getting BSODs ? The default settings for W7 is to reboot after an issue so the actual BSOD will only be shown for a short duration before the computer reboots. I would also look through the event viewer to see if there are any patterns or issues, your reboot should be logged as a 42 error, something about shutdown unexpectedly or without powering down.

I had this same problem a year back and it was not the PSU or RAM, it was a hard drive. I still dont understand why.

Ok thank you all, oh and btw there are no BSOD or any message :/ , well think first i'll try with another ram and see if this problem happen again. Don't think is the PSU because i just played battlefield 3 for 5 hours and nothing happened :/ , i'll put another ram and if this still happens maybe i'll format my pc or try with another PSU.
Oh and btw a friend also told me that it could be a hard drive problem O: how can i check if my HDD is fine ??

[Testing the Hard Drive]
Download the CD image of Hitachi Drive Fitness Test, burn the ISO file to a CD, and then boot from it, just like you would do with the XP/Vista install CD. Test the hard drive and see if any problems are found. DFT will run on most manufacturers' hard drives. Alternatively, you can use Seagate's SeaTools for DOS to test a Seagate or Maxtor drive. For a Western Digital drive, you could use Data Lifeguard Tools for DOS to test a Western Digital drive. For a Samsung drive, you could use Samsung's ES-Tool.

I had this problem for a while, turned out I got a little arctic silver on the mobo crossed a couple circuits and caused a short. If you changed your paste recently try going over the circuitry of the mobo with some rubbing alchohol. That said, as has been said it's likely a problem with ram or psu.
