hi i just built a custom PC. i just want to know how powerful it is because i have no idea.... also how good will it be with gaming???

P4 3.4 GHZ Hyper Threding 512K L2 cache (Northwood)
74 GB Western Digital Raptor (SATA) hard drive 10K rpm 8mb cache
256 mb 6800 GT graphics card by XFX
1024mb of DDR 400 memory not branded
450Watt PSU
MSI Neo Force 2 Motherboard

are there any bottlenecks with the performance?

also my graphics card is running a little hot at ideal 55 degrees and at stress levels 74 to 76 degrees my ambient temperature is around 35to45 degrees my graphic card has not been overclocked and i have the original XFX heatsink and fan.

is my graphic card running too hot? if so how could i cool it down?

Play some games and find out for yourself is the best answer. Its a bit late to be asking is it any good after you already built it ;)

If that configuration doesn't work for gaming, I'm not sure what would. Your graphics card temp doesn't seem out of line. Some GTs run warm. If it starts to spit you out of games or reboot for no reason, then I'd say it's too hot. I think my kid's GT idles at 51-53 and he plays on Steam for hours on end without problem. You can always burn more money on a water cooling solution, but you better be good with tools before you take that route.
 
since its your pc why dont you run some game benchmarks, 3dmarks etc and tell us how powerful it is. Last time I tried esp with a computer I failed in asking it how powerful it is.

yeah, nForce2 doesn't works too well with a p4. :p
Maybe he means NEO2 without the force in between.

Just saw that too LOL. Maybe if you use a hammer you could get that CPU on the board :p
 
my motherboard is MSI 875p Neo. that probably cleared ur problem anyway guys thanks..

o yea my 3D Mark 2001 score is 18875 sorry i dont have the latest version of 3D Mark.. but what does this number mean??? is it powerful?????
 
You didn't build your own computer if you have to ask how powerful it is. :rolleyes:

well if we look at the major points here:
3.4 ghz
1gb ram
6800gt
10k rpm hd

yes i would say this pc has some power.
but from the price you would pay for this, you should already know that :p
