Hi guys

Its been a while since I built a PC. For my son's birthday he wants to build a PC and I would like to keep it low budget. He's not a hard core gamer yet(mother is preventing), so nothing too high spec.

This is what I pieced together and would like to know if its the best bang for the buck. The deal is from Microcenter.

Thermaltake TR2 series 600w $34.99
Asus M5A78L-M LX Plus Free with CPU
Antec Gx700 Case $49.99
AMD FX 8350 $179.99

RAM, HDD, Radeon 7470 I already have and plan to use.

Let me know what you guys think.

The CPU and mobo are fine as long you don't mind the increased heat and power usage. If you do mind that, then you're going to want to go with an Intel setup.

However the PSU is pretty shitty. Bare minimum I would look at is this PSU:
$45 - Corsair 430CX V2 430W PSU

I can't vouch for the case. Though it does look a tad cramped for what it is. I rather recommend these confirmed good cases:
$43 - NZXT Source 210 Elite White with Black Front Trim ATX Case
$60 - Corsair Carbide Series 200R ATX Case

Are you sure you have the HD 7470?

Thanks for the advice. I was a bit iffy about the Tt power supply. I'll check out the cases when I get home.
The vid card is 7470. It's a low profile card pull from an Optiplex 7010.
