nope so will need a new windows 7 64bit, i think


Due to the ARMA bottleneck I am considering an AMD processor but am a little hesitant not to buy at least an i5.

Go Intel. Here's why:
That article doesn't include the newer Core i3 4130. The Core i3 4130 is 5% faster than the Core i3 3220 listed in that article. So the £90 Core i3 4130 would hit about 47FPS give or take assuming linear increases. So it performs rather close to the more expensive £128 FX-8350 and is only about £15 more than the FX-6300. All that and it uses less power and uses a more up-to-date platform.
