As most asus's boards now have "8 PHASE POWER" does this really make a difference? comparing the P5B-DLX to my DS3 which doesnt have 8 phase power, is it a better "possibility" to achieve a higher OC with this feature? What kind of power does the new P5B-E use? I don't see those 8 black power caps on that board, but yet it to achieves high FSB OC's. These questions are just out of curiosity. Thanks

with an E6300 probally not a lot but it could help, the more phases the power supply has the smoother (less ripple) the supplied power is and the power supply components are not stressed as hard if its designed right.

Most of the dual core conroes dont pull enough power to really stress a board.

The old P4s pulled double the power of an E6300.

What you are getting is better engineering, a better chance of stability at higher vcore settings and a better chance of being able to run a quad core chip later.

This is a very simple overview, a crappy 8 phase power supply would not be better than a good 3 phase supply.

What is really sad is that manufactures do not provide true electrical specifications that would allow one to determine the quality of their boards but instead provide a list of features and call them specifications.
