the system freezes right after the windows loading screen finishes... it only happens after a shutdown... if i restart from windows or hit the reset button it boots perfectly fine... im using 0804 bios... any ideas guys?... specs are in my sig... the system is perfectly stable in games and ran orthos blend for 70 minutes without issues
 
70 mins is hardly stable. try running orthos for at least 4 hours, 8hrs to be safe. see if that passes. 3.6ghz is a pretty high overclock.
 
i run 3.5ghz for 24/7 use and i had 70min orthos there.... the boot issue also happens at stock speeds so its not the overclocking
 
You could try an older bios if you think the bios is to blame. I haven't had any cold boot issues with my P5W, so I'm not sure it's necessarily an Asus problem...might be some sort of random hardware incompatibility.
