Aside from varisous features, what are the practical differences between these boards.

P5B Deluxe and P5W DH Deluxe

My main concern is being able to raid 10 4 - 250WD for performance and redundancy, and a board that is not going to flake out on me. Heavy photoshop use, video editing, and gaming in free time. Vista next year

OC? Maybe, but not much. SLI? def. not now, maybe later
E6600, x1900xtx, 2gb corsair, antec 900 or p180

What does the P5W Deluxe offer besides one less sata?

The P5W is a 975 Chipset board, where as the P5B is the 965 chipset. I would say there both very good boards, and very stable. The 975 (P5W) has native ide support, so it might be easier on any of your IDE devices, where as the 965 chipset uses an external Jmicron (crap) IDE controller..... The P5B tends to OC further if you care.

Neither board can handle 10 250GB drives. Neither board supports SLi.

I don't think you can RAID 10 on the P5W at least not all on 1 controller (ICH7R). Kind of a strange setup I thought. I don't know about the P5B, but it looks like there are 4 separate SATA ports controlled by the ICH8R.

Both are good OCers. I have the P5W and I run around 3.3Ghz with air cooling and a E6600. The P5W packaging is a little different. I think it has a remote control and the P5B doesn't. There are a lot of P5B variants though. The high end one is the P5B Deluxe/WiFi AP, but there is a P5B Deluxe non-Wifi also (saves maybe $30).
