Hi,

Just a quick question for those running WHS. I have a P4 2.8 with 2gig of ram, and two 500gig Seagate drives. Is an old P4 2.8 suitable to run WHS? I plan to use it for backups and serving media to my xbox and wdtv live.

I was looking at maybe upgrading but if i can avoid it that would great.

Thanks in advance!

Your computer will be just fine.

should work fine as long as you dont plan to transcode video's to the xbox to play them.. if you plan to transcode videos for playback then you want a quad core or high clocked dual core at the least..

Once ran WHS on a Pentium III 866Mhz CPU and 512MB of RAM. Worked fine. So that Pentium 4 will be just fine.
