P3 tualatin upgrade not working?

I tried to find a help menu with the commands to bypass the bios code. I was reading stuff on intels site. It looks I can can clear the cmos via a jumper and then flash to it any bios from a diskette. Im gonna try this using the intel bios. I hope this is not the wrong thing to do. I figured if it didnt work, I would clear it again and flash it with the dell bios.

clearing the cmos doenst really do much, except clear any saved settings.

If you flash it to the wrong bios, you wont be doing much of anything with the board. (maybe throwing it away)

Or buying a new bios chip with the correct bios on it.

I'm not trying to be mean here... but you are the classic noob. Trying to take a generic OEM board and trying to OC or upgrade where you usually cant. You really should do your research 1st before buying parts.

I was once a noob too... but after reading many articles, etc... have learned the lessons needed to OC, build computers, etc.
I didnt take any classes, I didnt inherit a magic computer gene, it just takes a little bit of work. The answers to your questions are out there. They have all been asked before. In fact, if the search function is working on the forums try using it. (IF ITS WORKING!)

Im not a noob. I just like to try to mod everything. I dont give up easily on anything. Someday I will have more money and will build a oc'able pc but until then I mod what I have.
Anyways, I got in contact with the maker of my adapter and turns out the tualatin wont work with the dimension xps b series cause of the bios. It wouldnt matter if I flashed to the intel bios cause the dell one is just a variant on the intel and it doesnt seem possible to flash to it without frying my mobo. Since this is the case im gonna offload the adapter and cpu on ebay for some good money.
