p180 is not quiet

well i hooked up my p180 and corsair hx520 into my old nf7 motherboard and i was disappointed. the case is just as quiet as my old computer case the slk3700bqe. Not much of a difference and i was expecting a phenominal difference to only to be disappointed. Is there anyway to make this baby whisper quiet. I hooked up all three fans that came with the case plus one. all the fans were connected to the fan y splitter on the connector so i was expecting some stuff, but no... all are set at 1 also. Help i need this to be somewhat silent.
 
Have you set all the included 120mm fans to low?
 
silent pc review loves that case so much that they made a limited edition one with their logo on it

i know and i based my decision of getting a p180 from them just like my last case, mike chin collaborated with antec to make this case. i dont know its just frustrating putting this together after 3-4 hours of labor only to be super pissed your not doing something right, only to take it apart and figure the culprit. this case is a pain in the ass. i want a quick fix now!!! but i need some ideas to start about this
 
Mine is extremely quiet. Some tips: Set the fans to low, or replace them with better fans and undervolt them (I did this). You only need the 3 120mm fans, don't waste time and noise by installing more 120mm fans in the front. The case runs cool so set your CPU fan to a low speed. Run riva tuner or ATI tool to set your GPU fan down to 50% in 2d mode. I bought a thin zalman 80mm fan so I could also use the side duct. Most people don't use this duct, but I like it and undervolt that fan too. With all this air being moved there is just no need to have high RPM fans. I have the bottom harddrive cage full, a few extra PCI cards, basically a full case... and it runs very cool and quiet. Yours should be able to aswell.

All fans are set to exhaust, so all the air is coming in through the two filtered vents in the front... so dust is not an issue either.
 
mine are yate loons with tuniq on silent and mines dead silent (can hear my raptors seeking though)

so how do you undervolt them?
 
lol figured it out, the fanmate controller on zalman cpu cooler was set at normal explains the loudness of the case.. im an idiot

we've all "been there" ;)
 
Don't forget, chipset and video card fans are always big culprits.

a case is not quiet. it's the components that go inside.
 
I have this case, and my PC cannot be heard,

First: Fans, the stock ones SUCK, get better ones,
Second: Active cooling, if you have VGA or NB active cooling, those are NOISY, I'd recommend getting silent or Zalman offsprings. Same to the CPU.
Third: PSU, what are you using? I have an Enermax Noisetaker and its silent, other PSU's are noisy.
Fourth: Hard Drive/Optical, my optical drives are the loudest things on my system, And some HD noise is present too. Either buy quieter drives (cough samsung spinpoint T) or suck it up.

Pretty much there is alot to do before you blame a case...since, technically, a case is silent...it the shit you put in it that is not.

Good points and info there. I have just ordered a P180 and am curious to know which 120mm case fans you use/recommend.
