How many ppd? 363? Thats insanity, do these just really like A64s or something? Its a 364 point gromacs, shame it couldnt be like a second a frame faster so itd be exatcly 24hours/unit.

They really like SSE2 to my knowledge. All my computers love that one. Pentium M get the most PPDPGhz on that Protien.

I don't know about liking SSE2 but my XP mobile tears through those in no time. I loved it when I got one of those on that machine. Hell, I like 'em on any machine that I run. For my XP mobile I think it took just under 24 hours to crunch one if I wasn't using the system. I could be wrong and it's just above 24 hours. Either way, it's close.

It may just be SSE. Since the "standard" by which they set the points per WU has all SSE instructions turned off, that is the only reason I can see as to why this protein has such a huge PPD. We've talked about this one before and I get anywhere from 300-480 PPD for them depending on the system that gets it.

I've had a few of these off an on over the last few weeks, and about 24 hrs +/- is right on the money. For some reason only my A64's been getting them as my P4's have been sticking with the smaller gromacs. It's a good unit to get, gets that PPD bumped up some! :D

I was using a P-4 @3.2 in my farm, but on those big units it took almost twice as long to finish them as my 939@2.5. FPU wise AMD rocks, the 64's rock a bit harder. ;)

I am not impressed by the Presshot 2.8 Ghz I have here at work. Obviously I can't overclock the thing. It's a Dell and it's my work system so I'm not going to mess around with the hardware. Besides, this thing runs hot enough as it is and the fan is rather loud.

My 1 Ghz Morgan core Duron on bigpacket Gromacs and Amber cores almost match the output of this P4 that's working on an 83 point Gromac. I'm looking at getting around 672 PPW out of this thing right now while the Duron will usually get 590-610. I find this to be rather sad.

Remember that big packet work units give you a 100% increase in points per day.
The range is 1.6 - 2 Points per Hour per Ghz.
So a 1 Ghz boxen folding a 4 PpHpG big packet Gromac will only fold slightly slower then a 2.8 Ghz boxen folding a 1.6 PpHpG small packet Gromac.

Luck......... :D
