Overcoming Discouragement??

Q6600(Stock clock for now)
Thermaltake Typhoon(120mm@110CFM)
GIGABYTE GA-EP43-UD3L(link)
G.Skill 2x2GB PC2-8000(link)
PCP&C 750W
EVGA 250/1GB
RaptorX hdd
CoolerMaster 690(5 120mm case fans)

Just built my first system and it postd first boot. Gigabytes BIOS will take some getting use too, guess that would be anyones first BOIS to get use too? Well, that Dramatic Energy Saver really threw me for a loop. (Vista Install, would progress at a snails pace and time its self out).

After all that, Im sure my new EVGA 250 is bad( I RMA'd it to EVGA a few days ago.)
The system was ROCK solid and wouldnt freeze with my old Quadro1700, didnt look as pretty, but didnt freeze.

Ill find out nextd week if it really was the EVGA 250, well when I get the new GPU.

Once I get the system back up and going, I want to try for 3.0Ghz on my Q6600. Just enough not to bottleneck my EVGA 250(plan on getting a EVGA 285 or even a 300GT)

I run Adobe apps, RTS's and RGP's and need a 100% stable system.

Help me overcome my Discouragement and get my 3.0Ghz. Ive never OC'd before so I might need some hand holding? I also want to get a total of 8GB's Memeory later(I get all new dimms if I have to).....

3Ghz should be easy to do, even for a relatively new person like yourself.
