Overclock+Reload OS=?

Sorry for the nOOb question, But do you reload your OS with Processor OC'ed? Or do you reload OS with Processor at stock then OC the processor.

Sorry if this topic as been asked to death.
 
You do not have to re install the operating system when you overclock.
 
I'd only worry about it if you PCI is running out of spec or you've had HDD problems while O/Cing.

But probably better safe then sorry if you're new at it all.

I reinstalled at my max O/C, no problems, but 845PE PCI lock works well. :)
 
Shouldn't need to reload the OS at all unless you've experienced a number of crashes (and possible data corruption) on your way to determining the most stable OS... What a lot of people do is create a backup image of their setup at stock speeds, then OC it to it's limit and settle on a very stable setup that's been stress tested; and after that reload the image once they know there won't be any more problems.
 
Usually, when I'm building an O/C box for someone, here are the steps I take.

1. - Assemble box.
2. - Install O/S.
3. - Ghost O.S. to hidden partition or seperate server
4. - Achieve max O/C and test stability with Prime/3Dmark combo at same time.
5. - Pull Ghost Image back to eliminate any instability.

This has worked well for a long time. I've seen too much O/S corruption from failed overclocks. If the hidden partition gets corrupted (hasn't happened yet...) Ghost will spit out a CRC error. Makes it pretty much foolproof.
