Optimum Desktop Resolution

1152x864
X800XTPE
Cause I'm getting old, and this is the smallest lettering I can read.

1280x1024 at 85Hz on a 19" CRT
1152x864 at 85Hz on a 17" CRT

Wow, I started a popular thread.

It seems that 1280x1024 is the maximum resolution that is allowed by some LCDs. My refresh rate is at 75hz, and it won't go any higher. Stupid dell E17fp! Oh well, it's a 17" LCD that i got as a free upgrade, so I'm not complaining too much. :D

Desktop: 1280x960x32 @ 120Hz
Gaming: 1152x864x32 @ 120Hz (thanks to Powerstrip)
Video Card: Gigabyte Radeon 9800 X
Monitor: NEC Multisync FP2141SB-BK

I use 1152x864 for gaming since my 9800XT has trouble with 4xAA/8xAF at 1280x960. I try to always use > 100 Hz if possible. If I can ever get an X800 XT, I'll use 1280x960x32 across the board. :)

1600x1200.
6800ultra.
Because it's the native resolution of my monitor.

one of the few @ 1152/864 75 hertz
9800 pro, 6800 in mail
viewsonic G71F+SB

i like that resolution because at any higher it can only go to like 60
and 60 hertz hurts my eyes and gives me headaches.....damn crts!!!!!

1600x1200 on 20.1' VP201b
Radeon 9700

Because it is native...

But, compared to 1280x1024 on 19' it is harder to read texts...

1280x1024 @ 120Hz
GeForce 5700LE AGP (Trust me whenever I have the money it's the next thing I'm upgrading, gotta get a 6600GT for dual LCD's)
Viewsonic VP171b-2's native resolution

*yawn*, I wish I had two Viewsonic 201b's, I'd love 1600x1200

haha.. this is oooolllld

two monitors
lcd: 1280x1024 (used for reading text)
crt: 1152x864 @ 75hz, just because 60hz hurts my eyes when watching movies and gaming.

1152x864 at 75Hz on a 17" Viewsonic CRT
6800GT
Because it's a 17in ... and if I put it higher Hz decrease which is not good for the eyes.

1920x1200 on each of 2 HP L2335s so, I guess, 3840x2400.

Edit: currently on a 6800GT.

3200x1200 on a pair of 21" Hitachi 814's. Today a ti4200, plan to change that next month.

1920x1440 on my 22" crt
1280x1024 on my 17" lcd

i usually use a radeon 9500 on the 22"

i usually use a geforce 6600gt on the 17"

1280x1024

its the highest my monitor will go while still staying at 85hertz

any lower and i can see it wobbling alot

Eww, using Internet Explorer, eww. "Abe Simpson* FOR SHAME!

Oh, 1600x1200 at 85hz on an NEC FE2111SB with an X800 Pro

1280x1024@85hz with an x800XT-PE on a 19" Hitachi CM772B Flat Screen CRT.

I would run at 1600x1200 but words are just a little too small at that setting on a 19" CRT.

1280x1024
19" Dell Ultrasharp FP LCD @ 60Hz
GeForce 6800 (non GT/Ultra)

...i still don't get how people with 19" monitors can have 1600x1200 resoultions, unless they use overscan.

1280x1024 (85Hertz) w/ a 6800GT on a NEC FE990 because i hate having to use the scroll bars to view entire images or web pages.

1152x864 on a Viewsonic P75F+B and Radeon 9700. Any higher and the text loses sharpness. I sort-of regret buying this monitor.

Whats wrong with using Internet Exploder? It will take you to the same website any other browser will.

And it'll bring all it's friends along to crash your party and drink your beer.

1152x864. I would be running at 1280x1024, but my moniter can only do 60Hz refresh rate at that resolution. Way too low. Hell, I find 75 too low.

Hey, where'd my thread come from? I saw this the other day, waaaaaay on back.

I'm still at 1280x1024, but with a 6800 GT this time, so everything looks awesome.

1024x768
BBA Radeon 9600 Pro

Used to run 1280x1024.

But I'm going blind, and I like having more then 60hz refresh rate.

1152x864

Even though my 22" crt can do 1600x1200 @ 100hz, I use the lower resolution because I like things to be large and easily readable since I spend a while on the computer.

1280x1024 on my Viewsonic VX910 with a BFG 6800GT because that is the default resolution for my LCD.

1600 x 1200 with 6800 SLI

3. and Why?
Because I can. :D
(That, and 1600 x 1200 is native on the FP2001).

I used to run 1600x1200 for the extra space, but I've recently found 1280x1024 to be more comfortable. 19" crt btw.
