opinons on ATi drivers poll

Ati drivers are fine but I wish they have a built in game profiler like nvidia does. Sometimes I hate going through CCC because one game likes a specific setting and the other doesnt.

Get Ray Adams ATI Tray Tools. You can do what you want with that.
 
could ati make decent drivers, maybe. will they ever that is THE question.

Their drivers are better but they still SUCK.
 
I'm a big fanATIc, however, the game I play most is Lord of the Rings Online, and I have to say that ATI drivers are noticeably inferior in this game. It's not my PC either, as it happens on three different PCs where I get flashing textures, and the occasional odd lighting. Haven't noticed or heard of such problems from the Nvidia types, and I've played the game on my friend's Nvidiot computer.

But I do believe LOTRO is a TWIMTBP game.
 
Personally, I think a lot of the "bad ATi" driver stuff dates back a loooooong time (think rage3d maxx up until radeon 8500). I have had an ATi card in at least one PC since the Radeon series first came out (7200, 8500, 9500 soft mod, x850, x1950, 3870) and I haven't had any significant driver issues since the Catalyst series was started. I can say the same about nV drivers on my desktop running Vista. No issues to speak of. You will always see different optimizations in both company's drivers coinciding with the launch of big gaming titles, new gfx families, etc.
