Opera has been in the news a lot recently. First they pass the Acid 3 test with 100% compatibility. Now they are reporting that they have been able to port the browser to Google's Android platform.

Does the current one work with forward/back buttons on the mouse? The beta I tried a month ago didn't, which was odd since they do work in 9.2x.

Porting it to Android really isn't a surprise. Opera has a mini version running on tons of small platforms including cell phones, the Nintendo DS, and the Nintendo Wii.

Glad to see some more positive news stories. I'm not a daily reader, but I've been annoyed with all the negativity in media surrounding corporations and their "big evil hand" that somehow grips the general populace and intrudes into all aspects of their life. Unfortunately, these kinds of news stories don't usually make it to the mass media outlet
