Ongoing WCG Challenges

honestly i think we have about the same amount of active WCG'ers as you guys.. theres just a crap load of people on the team that dont do WCG anymore.. so we might be about the same but we also dont have anyone avg'ing 181,213.81 points a day like your top guy.. so i think it makes it pretty even dont ya think.. :p

I think you may have misunderstood. In my post I am replying to a question about a race in Folding@home ... and there the difference between the teams is very large ...

In WCG you are right and that is why we challenged you to the race!

Sounds like you need to do a tad more recruiting eh? Hopefully this race on the WCG side helped you out with that. I think it may have helped us pick up a couple of new members (besides the gang that's here to help with the race).

Im undecided on wether not to stick with wcg after this challenge or go back to fah. WCG is definately alot more stable

I hates to tell ya' petrusbroder, but we at the [H]orde helped write the book about that heavyset woman squawkin' We know all about her singin' to the other loosing teams when they were crazy enough to challenge the great [H[orde team 33 ;)

How 'bout that for gettin' some "lazy arses" to crunchin' :p

Folding and WCGing for the CURE

My great respect for your venerable age, Mr Wagner. I was not aware of you joining [H]ard-OPC. None of your biographers has mentioned that. I'll edit the Wikipedia about that. :D
I really admire your great opera "Götterdämmerung" (Twilight of the Gods, composed 1874) - and the fat lady which ends the opera ... ;)

Agreed - and we have had some - although limited - success in recruiting.
Races are great fun, it puts the focus on a project, generates fun and keeps people crunching - at least for a time ...;)

^ Even if one new person became either interested or more aware of the DC concept it's well worth the effort. It IS all about the cause.

That's why I'm looking forward to having this be an annual event. Win-win as far as I'm concerned.

That's what I call GitN R Done!

Hark..., do I hear the singing of a heavy set old broad? Must be Wags (Wagner's) older sister  (no offense to any of the lovely [H]orde team lady folders )

Good "collective" work there TeAm :p

Now why would you want to waste time doing that?

because they completely schooled the canucks(like we are about to school anandtech :p).. and im from california.. to top it off they are the best team in NHL.. so why wouldnt i watch them? :p

I saw them play Thursday. I wasn't impressed.

In a concerted effort to keep this thread off topic, I'd usually toss out some comment about the Rangers being awesome and such. Except for that atrocious finish last night.

How long until February 14th?

I saw them play Thursday. I wasn't impressed.

to be honest im not impressed either.. they come out blazing in the first period and then fall apart in the third period.. they have done it in every game for the last 2 weeks.. but as long as their leading in the first period.. they rarely give the lead up so ill take the mediocre second and third periods as long as they arent giving up goals.. but the sharks arent a stanley cup team just yet.. everyone just sucks more then the sharks do at this point..

As long as you don't have any unrealistic expectations. The cup isn't leaving Detroit. 23-6-4 with a bad case of post championship hangover. Too many games this year they look like they aren't even trying. Wait unit March when they actually start playing. :D

ok back on topic... update as of 12/24/08

looks like we will take over first place christmas night.. was a fun battle Anandtech.. but i think you learned your lesson challanging the [H]orde.. :p

Quick stop to update the stats and then back to the festivities. The update for 12/24 is in. Looks like we're going to be giving AT a Christmas present. Thought it might be an early one but not to be..

Keep the pressure on though. The race isn't over until January 2nd. Anything can happen.Let's finish 2008 on a high note as we finish the spanking on Team AnandTech and give HardOCP's WCG team a big X in the win column.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday to all!

Just don't let up off the throttle, the race isn't over after tomorrow. We have the lead, but we still have to KEEP the lead.

Great to hear. Thanks! Let's make it a BIG win if possible. It's already a huge come from behind. But we do want this to be memorable.. :D

heck ya we want it to be memorable! i mean come on were beating a team that challenged us.. and with a big lead at the time as well.. this is the come back of the year right here boys and girls.. lets finish this one off right..

Hey guys and gals please don't give the ship up now. I had my total "truck garden" (2x Q6600's, a E6600 and a "open on the floor" E6420) doin' straight up WCG until my F@H stats were going into the "dumper", so I reconfigured and started runnin' F@H GPU2 on my 2x quads and my lonely E6600 (we're talkin' like zippo on the pernt spread )

The bottom line is if the [H]orde needs these 3 CPU's (I'm doin' 3x WCG on the quads, 1x WCG on the E6600 and 2x WCG on the floor boxen) I'm a' gonna' reconfigure for straight up WCG and help the [H]orde as much as I can to "blowin' the freakin' doors offa' TeAm" or any other team crazy enough to challenge the mighty [H[orde . :p

HAPPY HOLIDAYS

We'll never say no to more boxen, but they're your boxen, so keep them where you think they'll do you best. As long as they're crunching away for the [H]orde, that's good enough.

Merry Christmas race fans! I bring you glad tidings, good cheer and a status update on the race.

HardOCP on 12/25/2008 takes over with a modest lead over Team AnandTech of 89579. Great job by all!

Our production is off a bit again today possibly due to the holiday but still above normal. AnandTechs production is off by a corresponding amount so that evens things out. Let's keep the pressure on for these last 8 days of the race and we'll be fine.

Nice crunching Horde! This has been/is a great race. No matter who wins I would like to thank Team AT for a fun challenge. This has been a lot of fun and I think we should make this a yearly race. Thanks to all the [H]ard DC'ers out there who pitched in.

Merry Christmas everyone. Full speed ahead! :)

A look at the stats tells me it is indeed a Merry Christmas.

Great work all, the mighty [H]orde has overtaken them, but the battle is not yet won. We must continue to fight the good fight . So that they and others may soon realize the [H]orde is not ever to be taken lightly.

Brother sirmonkey1985 I wouldn't get too upset with someone shutting their farms down for the holidays, it's all part of RL (real life).
I read a post once that was written by an "old timer" that said RL and family always comes first. I'm sure people will be back to DCing soon, or sooner, if the challenge thing swings against us. ;)
I'm not with the "in crowd" on the WCG pernts system validation thing, but taking three weeks does seem a little on the excessive side. (130 projects)
Have a happy holiday and I hope your stats are soon updated. :D

nah the biggest thing that i have a gripe about is the time limits on stuff.. some of them i have to wait an entire month to be validated because 1 of the people that jumped on it decided they didnt want to run WCG anymore.. so everyone gets stuck waiting for that 1 guys project to finally error out due to missing the deadline.. but meh guess ill deal with it.. ill get the points eventually.. just not when i want them..
