OMG!

The technology is pretty cool but I don't think I'd actually want one though.

I almost posted this yesterday. The display is transparent, sure. It also shows progression of OLED, but the actual quality of the image displayed looks pretty terrible. I don't see the application in a typical laptop such as that, but there are some VERY intriguing options for the technology.

Heads up display on your windshield? Display on your window a la Iron Man? Etc Etc.

When the price on this, compared with the flexible display material debut by Asus recently comes down, I'll definitely want to get ahold of this sort of thing. OLED/AMOLED is certainly the wave of the future.

Wow, this looks super cool. Can't wait to see how this tech progresses.

Idk would be kinda hard to see, I saw a similar phone device before with just a sort of monocrhome getup. Could be useful in combat helmets I think. Would sort of make the movie fantasy worlds come more to life :D

On a side note, its either our IE7 and websense maybe, but the new engadget sure beats my IE7 like a dead horse with script errors on threads lol.

why would i want to be able to see the back of my desk and wall through my monitor? i don't understand how this serves any practical purpose as a desktop monitor.

The tech isn't intended for desktop monitors. From what I heard, it's expected to be applied to augmented reality situations. Imagine engineers using such a monitor to overlay a schematic over a prototype or doctors overlaying xray scans on a patient.

would totally suck if your watching porn on it at a cafe... im not saying that i do that... why are you all staring at me

It sure does look cool but I can't imagine it not sucking for use outside of specialized purposes.
