OMG! Clean that keyboard!

The pic of the Logitech Keyboard isn't too bad. About a year ago I worked for Logi and would see some of the RMA's that would come back claiming to be defective. In one case, it was obvious that a can of soda was dumped on a wireless MX3100 (both the keyboard and the wireless hub) and in the RMA they claimed it shipped that way! HA! yeah, it was still wet when we pulled it apart to see the validity of the claim.

That though was minor, I've seen a lot of different keyboards abused and people would claim our product was utter crap, etc.. only to find out they abused it before hand and then returned it for a new product. Bleh, its just easier to replace the keyboard then clean it.

whynot just used canned air.
allthough dishwasher sounds fun and all i myself opt for the lazy mans way out and kick out the 100 psi air compressor.... thus far it \pretty much gets everything unless you have a sticky keyboard (lol from food).....

on a side note, I cant stand those keyboards with crap all over them. Internet buttons, Mail buttons, buttons for audio players. UGH. I have a rather simple dell, and 5 others like it in the closet.

i did a reformat/reinstall of windows on my friend's laptop (she has long blonde hair), and i took apart the keyboard because it looked dirty...with all the hair i pulled out of the thing, you could have assembled a small willie nelson doll.

I did this a while back to a Logitech Clavier multimedia keyboard, and ever since I actually washed the keys they don't have the same response they originally had. I have no clue of why they're so much harder to push down than before, but anyone have any ideas? I used water to clean them, and from the few people I've asked there isnt any lubricant on them, so I've got no clue of what to do. I love the keyboard, but it definately makes typing an effort, and im seriously considering a new keyboard to replace it...

Any ideas on how to fix it? The only thing I've though of is that the membrane beneath the keys isn't properly aligned, but considering I've taken the tray apart more than once before to replace the leds in it I doubt it's the true culprit...

i clean mine once a week... i'd be scared i would get a disease from uing that KB, yuck

Just got a new box at work and its got one of those small little Dell keyboards. I'm liking it better than my bigger one at home. wow @ the unmarked keyboard. I usually dont look down unless I miss a key twice, but I might get mad if I couldn't find it. :p
