I see they’re trying to avoid Concord: part 4

boycott lol...it calls on gamers to log out or unplug their PlayStation consoles starting on August 23 at 7 pm in gamers' local time and maintain that offline state until August 30 at the same time...

And people were calling for an exception for the Modern Warfare 4 beta. It's all performative. People will do what they want. Anybody remember the original Modern Warfare 2 boycott on PC? Yeah...

85% of game sales on PS5 are digital. 97% on Xbox. I understand the sentiment, but it makes no business sense to keep paying for the manufacture and distribution of physical discs anymore. PC has been all digital for more than a decade at this point.

PlayStation Is Set to Pay Out $7.85 Million to Users as Part of Class-Action Lawsuit

The class-action lawsuit alleged that Sony violated anti-trust laws by forcing "consumers to pay more for certain digital games than they otherwise would have paid on the PlayStation Store”...it did so by removing digital vouchers for games from third-party retailers like Amazon or key resellers, meaning if you want a digital copy of a PlayStation game, you must buy it directly from the PlayStation Store

To be eligible for a cut of this settlement, you'll need to be a United States citizen who purchased a game from this list between April 1, 2019 and December 31, 2023...if you are elligible, PlayStation will deposit funds into your PSN account at a later date...

Lol. Chump change to Sony. I don't think I can claim anything since 99% of my games are physical for PS.

I wish Sony would narrow down the release date of the PS6...rumors are anywhere from late 2027- 2030...I'm debating getting a PS5 Pro but will hold out if it's coming in 2027

storage costs to ease by H2 2027

however memory prices are more sticky. anywhere from H2 2028 all the way to 2030.

I guess Sony is happy with ps5 pro as it supports fsr 4 which is a big deal

the objective should be to get the 50% users on ps4 & ps4 pro to upgrade. for that a PS6 handheld with an add-on dock should do the job. possible in 2027 end

if PS6 big console releases in 2028, then expect it to cost atleast $1000

a later launch by 2029 / 2030 would be ideal keeping memory prices in mind

I doubt we’re getting it next year given the economy and market conditions. If you want a pro just get it.

Compared to 21 with the PS4 generation. This is why we joke that the PS5 has no games
So annoying and sad. I came into the PS5 so hyped after loving my PS4 and PS4 Pro and many of its exclusives. Now I'm so disappointed with Sony I can't see myself touching my PS5 again outside of a few couch co-op games with the wife and kids.

They fumbled SO hard and so many things now.. just off the top of my head:

- Closing Bluepoint Studios, pretty much the best studio ever at updating and remaking classics for current gen hardware. Absolutely unforgivable. I would rather them close Naughty Dog over them at this point.
- No more PS+ gift cards and PS+ price hikes, you used to be able to get 12/13 month PS+ gift cards for $35 or so routinely. Now the base PS+ Essiential is $80/year with sales down to $60 for BF or mabye a couple other holidays.
- Essentially killing TLoU 2 multiplayer because they forced ND to make it a Live Service game that was not going to be viable no matter how they spun it. Wasting hundreds of millions of dollars and time that could have easily just been TLoU multiplayer (that was actually good and fun) in Part 2's setting and characters for a fraction of that cost.
- Concord and Concord-likes such as the upcoming Horizon Hunters Gathering that looks like more Sweet Baby Inc live service slop and destined to fail. When they should only be working on the next single-player game in the series that is definitely coming. Though I'm not sure I would be interested in that at this point after SBI's involvement in that and them forcing a gay relationship on you in the DLC.
- Gender swapping most of their game series from male to female leads; TLoU Part 2, Intergallactic, Ghosts of Yotei, God of War Laufey, Uncharted 4 Lost Legacy, etc.
- Dumping Hideo Kajima's next MGS-like PHYSINT game for Xbox to pick it up from them, likely because they can't control him like other studios and he doesn't want ugly characters in his games (as opposed to just normal looking people, not even super attractive ones). This seems extra aggregious given their past history of having many exclusives from Kojima.
- Shutting down Destiny 2 when it was seemingly doing just fine, though I never personnaly cared to play it and may be wrong about how well it was doing.
- Generally running all of their 1st party studios into the ground either by forcing the live service garbage on them and/or by encouraging their regressive identity politics into their games by hiring SBI and incorperating their values into them, alienating most of their customer base.

I'm sure there's much more I couldn't think of immediately. I've pretty much switched completely back to PC as my main platform now because of all this trash. My PS+ sub will expire in November and it will be the first time I've let it lapse in at least a decade now. I've got Moonlight/Apollo set up and mostly working well so I can stream my PC to my living room TV with no perceivable latency or image degradation. It's not quite a console experience, but I have another PC with a 12GB 3080 in it I want to install Steam OS or Bazzite to for that as well.

I like my PS5 Pro simply because I never really played any of the Sony games, and so with a PS Plus subscription I get to play a huge back catalogue of fantastic games, and it’ll allow me to play GTA6 without waiting either. I could absolutely see the PS5 being disappointing if you had a PS4 though, because all the games I’m playing and enjoying are just remasters of PS4 game.
