Just seems like mostly employees being babies in that original Reddit thread. If stores haven’t figured out how to handle fluctuating numbers of customers by now, it’s all on them.

The GS stores by my house are competently run and handled the PS5 lines and reservations well. They’d happily take all the consoles they could get to have things to sell.

No spoilers or nonsense, the simplest advice I can give for this game (all of the others) is to learn how long your weapon will reach and learn to circle around enemies. The reach thing will help you hit approaching enemies before they can hit you. Circling will allow you to avoid hits and get a better/safer position. You can add-in rolls later, but you actually don't really need to roll much for the first 1/2 of the game. Normal movement will work just fine.

And the biggest word of advice I can give you for boss fights, actually learn the boss move sets. They become exponentially easier when you can tell what attack they'll be doing and when.

Yup, my local ebgames (Canadian gamestop) just locks the door and lets people in 1 by 1 to maintain numbers inside the store, works pretty dam effectively lol

Thank! I learned quickly that I could do the more powerful strike when distant and back up without much struggle. Can't wait to play tonight! I did very early on walk into one of the big demon's from the trailer, shit myself, and died immediately. Lol

You're more or less supposed to die there, so that's normal. He's beatable, but they know 99% of people won't. Hell, I didn't (I got kinda close) and I know the games pretty well. You'll encounter that same demon one more time later and you'll likely be much stronger at that point. At the very least you should do more damage and take less.

Run at him as you enter and jump behind him as he swings, stay behind him, and keep scrolling around him, also be prepared for when he does his back jump stomp move, you'll get wrecked at range.

There is a new firmware update available for the DualSense pads. Not sure what the update does, but it exists. If anyone bought a DualSense for use on the PC, I have no idea how you'd update it without also having a PS5.

If you using it for PC only the updates are probably meaningless. Still so weird updating a controller this generation now.

No, I'm genuinely curious what the issues you're referring to are. The only one I can think of is the HDMI bandwidth being less than the Series X's. edit: Also remembered about the coil whine some consoles are doing

Been playing through Spider-Man Remastered and really loving this game at 60 fps (have it on Performance+RT). Haven't tried the other modes yet (and will likely avoid the 30fps mode). I've also been using the Suspend/Resume option a lot on the game and haven't encountered the resume crash yet. Wasn't sure if they patched it already, but its been solid.

Oh, one additional PS5 observation that I haven't made until now when I installed my first disc-based game is the optical drive is a screamer. The system is extremely silent any other time, but when its copying data from a blu-ray - very audible.

Yar, dude's a little vague on which issues he's waiting out on. I'm guessing the 'resume/suspend crash' which I'm still seeing reported, but hasn't really affected me. AFAIK, the PS4/PS5 game 'versions' and controller charging issues have been patched.

For me, the biggest issue is the lack of external storage support for PS5 games. I'm still good myself (just deleted games as I finished them) but would definitely prefer to copy them over to a storage SSD (or even better increase my internal storage) in case the game gets a new mode or decent DLC down the road.

so annoying, at least M$ has their proprietary Seagate 1TB drive out for a while now that works flawlessly. Yes it’s $225ish for 1tb but that’s the going rate now for Gen 4 SSD’s. You just plug it in and boom, if your HDD space shows 220gb, it shows 1.2tb right away. No separate drive, no nonsense.

Guess there are quite a few issues, but it's a new release, it's to be expected.

I'm still waiting for the first revision, and that'll be a few months from now when almost all software bugs are squashed.

I'm not sure there's any commercially available SSDs out yet that exceed the PS5s internal SSD speed, or at least any that are widely available. It's considerably faster than the Xbox's and Sony said the expandable SSD needs to be a bit faster than the internal one with the overhead the controller introduces to it. So that's what's holding it up right now, I think.

IMO the bigger issue is being unable to at least transfer PS5 games to be stored on an external USB drive. At least with that, you're not forced to re-download a PS5 game after you're forced to delete it to install another game. It hasn't been an issue for me yet since most of my games are PS4 versions and are kept on an external SSD I have. But it will definitely become an issue in the next several months as I acquire more PS5 titles.

Edit: Looks like the Samsung 980 Pro SSD that's out now fits the bill. Not sure what others are out yet that do. But Cerny also said that there's physical size restrictions in the PS5's expansion bay and there doesn't seem to be a standard size for SSDs with their varying heatsinks and cooling solutions. I'm interested and hopeful they'll say something about expandable drive support soon too though, along with better external drive support as well.

I just started spiderman Miles Morales as my first "ps5" game outside of astro bot and I've been having a ton of fun so far. Only issues I've encountered to date on my ps5 is the weird error accusing me of unplugging my ps5 when I put it in rest mode. I've just started turning it off instead of rest mode and haven't had any issues since.

So far my setup with the Xbox series x being my shooter system and my ps5 being my single player system is working well. Been keeping my ps5 in my upstairs living room instead of my man cave with the controller and pulse headset ready to go for when the wife decides she needs an hour to read a book but I don't wanna go downstairs lol.

My issue is the just that they havent enabled the secondary\expandable m2 slot that they showed off. Damn thing has a 825GB hard drive that has like 6xx usuable. You install Cold War and Warzone, you've used 400+GB right there. What a joke lol. I think i have like 44gb left on my ps5 and it wont even update warzone because i dont have enough room.

I don't think any games are really utilizing half the SSD's capability at the moment, on both the Xbox and PS5, so yeah you're not going to see much tangible difference between them yet. Same for the rest of their hardware really; I mean just look at any games at the beginning of any console's life and see how much better they look and run near the end.

But really, I think the main issue with your instance is the insanely bloated game more than the SSD capacity. I could never comprehend why CoD needs to be so large and finally uninstalled it off my PC because the 30+ GB updates were retarded and the couple friends I only played with stopped playing anyways. Sans RDR2 (which is on the external anyways), I think the largest game on my PS5 or Series X is 65 GB or so, with most of them being 40-60 GB. But I'm sure next gen games will continue to get larger as well and I anticipate throwing a 2TB SSD into my PS5 as soon as they allow me to.

But really if you do a simple search of that you'll see what the most common issues are that have affected a lot of people and luckily most of them have been fixed or probably will be fixed pretty soon. One of the things that I'm worried about is that there are two different fan manufacturers and one of them is noticeably louder than the other so hopefully they'll get that sorted out at some point soon.

I have no idea what you are talking about either? Cyberpunk is a shitshow, but it has nothing to do with the ps5. I've played the ps4 Spiderman, Miles Morales PS5, and i'm about 80% through AC:Valhalla and i've yet to have any sort of problem. At least 100 hours or so on it since launch day.

This is not about individuals complaining but a list of the actual issues that are well known and have been addressed or are being addressed. That's easily found with a simple Google search.

I said nothing about failures and I think there's only been a few of those. Again if you just simply searched like I've been saying over and over and over you would have seen the most common issues that plenty of people have reported as they are well documented. Even looking through this thread a couple of things have been mentioned and heck I even mentioned one. But anyway like I also said many of the small little issues have already been addressed.

wow, that's a pretty big problem. i'd warranty that console if a system reset doesn't fix it.

Honestly it's not a big deal. After I play I just shut it down. It restarts from the controller but not if I 'sleep' it.
