Thanks for posting this!! Game looks beautiful, what graphics engine is it using??

Wish I could have gotten into a beta for this, I'll definitely be buying it.

It's an open beta?

Just download the battle.net from Blizzards site and install the game.

Wasn't expecting this game to be THIS much fun, having a blast!!!

Longevity worries me a bit though....

This game is fun as fuck so far and super smooth.

120+ fps basically always and netcode seems solid.

No idea what engine it is, probably some internal Blizzard one but it looks and plays great. Open beta for everyone already started today so hop on battlenet and download it. The game is definitely a buy.

After seeing what happened to TF2 after it went F2P, I too worry about OW's long term business plan. I don't think Blizzard is incompetent enough to allow OW's community to become a dumpster fire of pre-teen, item-obsessed memesters and hackers like Valve did, though.

It's the most stable and well optimized beta I've ever played, that's for sure. Beyond the under-the-hood stuff, the game seems very polished. The art, voice acting, menus etc are quite well executed.

No server browser...console matchmaking...no ping counter...hmmmmm

It does show the ping and has an FPS counter and even gives GPU temp. Server match making is handled pretty well and I have never seen my ping above 30.

I don't really see the need for a server browser in this game. You can group with friends and do custom games. No point in needing a browser.

I do wish I could import my Steam friends list. Getting out of hand having 4 different gaming friends lists.

You guys haven't played Blizzard games in a while have you? :)

Man I love this game! Been having a blast playing with a group of friends. Here's a clip I managed to save while playing as reaper:

I stand corrected, still beyond retarded not to include that information in the scoreboard especially as the only ping shown is your own and not every other player. And matchmaking will always be idiotic for any FPS MP game.

There is plenty of point when one doesn't want to be chucked into a predetermined server on the other side of the continent.....are people so scared of options these days that they need to justify unnecessary over simplification?

I have played plenty of D3 and SC2, not sure what those games have to do with the ability to pick servers in an FPS where latency is critically important.

The only thing I don't like is the mouse sensitivity so far, not nearly fine grained enough. Needed to change my mouse DPI.

1 sens was too low and 2 was too high.

Enable the performance counter in options, it shows ping. Matchmaking is fine if it's done well, look at CS and DOTA.

I was seeing 10 - 20 pings all last night so they probably have servers at all the major points.

For a small 6v6 game like this, I love that we don't have to deal with the hassle of a server browser. Much nicer to be able to just click and play and have the server auto-repopulate if anyone leaves.

There are definitely some balance issues that need to be addressed as some heroes are just way too effective. Zarya is completely broken on offense with her shields, every time I pick her it's just a complete roll all the way to the end of the map with no deaths. Mercy and Widow are broken in the sense that if the other team is running either of them, your own team better have one as well unless you want to lose. Also, sniping is way too easy in this game since you don't have to lead shots and the cycling rate on the rifle is so fast. By far the easiest game to snipe in that I can remember going back 20 years.

Whoa easy I just meant to say that Blizzard tends to simplify (and isolate in their walled garden) rather than add complexity. Lack of a server browser and Battle.net-friends only is like a given for Blizzard, that's all :)

I wanted to give this a spin -- but blizzard/battle.net seem very intent on keeping me from my account. I had an account ages ago when I was into Diablo 3 - I know my email address and password, but my authenticator is long gone (it was probably on a phone i had 5 years ago)

Going all the normal routes to try and reset myself didn't work, they flat refuse to send a verification email or anything like that - finally I said screw it I'll just do chat support or email support and get things squared away. They actually wanted me to scan in my drivers license "to make sure it was me". At that point I noped out... I just wanted to give the beta a spin - and that requires me to go find my license, scan it in and send it to a total stranger?

Fuck em' ... I was interested, now I'm not because they make it a royal fucking pain just to get to my old ass account.

Just make a new account....

thought about that -- the feeling had passed. It was one of those things where I have very limited time to explore the beta anyways, I gotta work all weekend anyway so not even worth my time to make a new account.

Enjoyed it a great deal, I'll be picking it up when released and will let Battlefront languish unless I need a 5 minute star wars fix.

OMG this game is so fantastic!! My friends and I are loving it. Goodbye the division, hello Overwatch. We all instantly bought the Origin Edition. :)

The Graphics look like Gotham City Imposters alot which is good half Cartoonish not much detail and it's fluid. I haven't tried it myself because you still have to pre purchase the game.

I guess it's Free to Play till the 9th going to check it out I don't think I have Battlenet installed.

I think it kinda sucks. Matches are done super quick, fire fights are super quick, and there's no real level, ability, item or map progression. Too few of players and health to do anything strategic so you just hang out and one spot the entire game. It's just mindless play for 5 minutes and easily forgettable.

It also purposefully doesn't support 21:9.

So no buy for me. It's from Blizzard though, which means it will get soaked up. Any other dev would get destroyed.

Agreed.
Played it on PC. Looked like crap. Also colors felt washed out. Played on PS4 and it was decent fun. I do think it has longevity of a month. Very casual game. Also gunplay is so shite. Weapons bounce around all the time like a kid is holding a gun. Weapon sounds are also pretty mediocre and there is no oomph.

Wanted to pre order but will wait on reviews. Also cdkeys price went up to 45. Was 35 before.

Can someone start a list of people playing this and their battle.net id's?

Mine is Skyvalley#1789

Yeah I gave it two rounds like the Graphics not very immersive feels like Dirty Bomb......Blizzard should stick to MMOs

Gothum City Imposters is better

Kinda shocked the game doesn't support 21:9.

Even D3 supports 21:9. So WTF?

They're purposely not supporting it because "it gives an unfair advantage." They want this to be a "pro" game even though you play 5 minute random scrub games. Kind of absurd.

Maybe you and KickAssCop just haven't found a good team to play with. Pub teams can be pretty crap and lend to a boring game but if you have your own group, this game is amazingly fun and even more so when faced against other competitive groups.

I see the potential for this game, but i have similar complaints. First of all, the maps are lame. I should be something more arena style. Like, they have these BIG maps, but then you just run to the one spot where people are and fight ala CoD rubbish.

Which brings me to my second complain. What's with the stupid gamemode? Attack or defend ONE node? At least have 3 or more like Battlefield, or have some kinda map progression or varying game modes. Talk about a snoozefest just attacking or defending the one spot on a map that's designated the place for battles.

CTF would be huge in this kinda game. Perhaps they've limited it for the freeplay, and i just haven't heard.

While I would like to see 3 or 5 CP maps in addition to the king of the hill style control maps, they do have 9 other maps that are either Assault, Escort (payload), or hybrid gameplay modes. Did you only play one game or something?

Oh strange. Well that's good to hear! I played 3, and each was Assault or Defend a single square.

Sweet jeebus, not that argument again. Didn't we do this already when everyone transitioned from 4:3/5:4 to 16:10 and 16:9? I really was only mildly curious, TF2 is still going to get my prime time. But not supporting ultrawide is a big turnoff.

Updated battle.net, downloaded the client, played a few tutorials/ai matches with an annoying pillarboxed screen. I shouldn't be surprised since it is Blizzard.

Meanwhile you have pros in CS doing dumb shit like stretching 1024x768 to fit 1920x1080.

Tried out two more matches game is ok still kinda weird I could see it taking off and having competitions down the road not sure if they would be as big as CSGO or Dota 2.
I think that is the real reason why they made the game is Competitions that offer something other then CSGO.

The Character selection is like Final Fight :censored:
