    Interesting......

reading the NVidia blog, says they've been working for 2 years with the developer.

Then release drivers the day before...........that improve performance by 41%......

    Good for us.:D

Anyway...........can't wait to play the game tomorrow!!!

DL'ing now. Game unlocks on Steam in 9 hours! I was expecting it to be time zone locked but I guess as soon as the east coast gets it so does everyone!

Will only be able to test SLI performance today as I'm shipping out my second Titan tomorrow.

Too bad it wasn't like this with Tomb Raider. I wonder how long it'll take for both Square Enix and Nvida fix this issue with that game.

    Nice! Good job, nVidia.

As soon as AMD pulls their you-know-what out of Square Enix's you-know-where.

On the plus side, at least nVidia is actually DOING SOMETHING to try to update as fast as possible for their clients.

AMD just sits there with one finger up their nose for months then go "oh, hey, driver release time, RELEASE THE MONKEYS!"

I was hoping I wouldn't have to elaborate on that. You know...the "partnership" between SE and AMD for Tomb Raider. :p

May cause some unwanted non-plationic friction for nVidia in regards to being able to develop a driver release that is optimized for TR.

All joking aside, I really do think that it would be easier for nVidia to release a driver that is optimized for TR if AMD and SE weren't so buddy-buddy with this game title. Just me?

if AMD and SE weren't so buddy buddy? err for years that was the constant knock against AMD for not working with developers while Nvidia had their developer exclusive TWIMTBP program in full force leading to AMD releasing optimized drivers much later after a game is released.

Now when AMD takes a proactive effort and work closely with developers...they get knocked again!
I guess its fine for Nvidia but not for AMD

At least you can still use TressFX on Nivida cards. If the situation was reversed...it'll be an Nividia exclusive. So good on AMD.

But on topic..glad this driver is out. Gonna give it a try. I run a 670 and have Tomb Raider so this interests me...kinda on the fence with Bioshock Infinite. Think I'll wait and see reviews.

You've taken my jest way out of context...as a user of both AMD and nVidia, I despise the partnerships with game developers to advance one and cripple the other.

What issue? they fixed it already. i waited to buy the game until they fixed the problem.

with my 2x 560 Ti's i'm able to run the game at 1920 x 1080 high to very high settings across the board with tressFX on (no AA on at all) and get great graphics and 40-60 FPS constantly. when i get frame drops down to 40 range is usually in the cut scenes where it gets close up on chars faces and the crazy amount of tessellation combine with the tressFX hair seem to bog down my last gen cards but otherwise gameplay is nice and smooth.

    680 SLI here @ 1080p
    settings/texture very high and 2xSMAA
    Vsync on

Dont know about frame rate but It does feel smoother to me after upgrading from 314.21. much less choppiness.

These drivers were good for Tomb Raider, TressFX now works probably, before that I couldn't get it to run properly without it taking a huge performance dive.

    Don't have Bioshock Infinite yet.

These drivers still stutter with Crysis 3 and its annoying, didn't see any improvements whatsoever. Yet again, I don't think the notes mentioned anything about Crysis 3.

i don't see how it was taken out of context.. you knocked AMD for working with SE yet AMD made sure that all the features of the game were open to both AMD and Nvidia.. i think you just lack the understanding of the difference between what AMD is doing with game developers and what Nvidia tried to do with TWIMTBP and failed at by locking down key features to games.

Has anyone else got this issue with these drivers in Bioshock Infinite.

A level of detail line a few feet in front of my character...only affects shadows quality??

How about the fact that I stated it was in jest (that means I wasn't being serious), yet you still felt the need to follow up with a post proclaiming that I don't understand the difference.

AMD has TressFX and it's an open tool for everyone to use. nVidia has PhysX and it can only be used with an nVidia GPU. Both companies have made successful and unsucessful attempts to lock down their techs to specific hardware, games, and applications in the past...much in the same way 3Dfx did it with Glide. There. Did I clear that up for you?

Could be SSAA causing the blur. Try FXAA, see if it fixes it.

I have SLI GTX670's. Played BioShock Infinite 1920x1080 Ultra settings. Holy mother of optimization O_O!!! Smooth as silk.

For craps n giggles, did a benchmark run, same settings. 183 FPS average is not bad

Unreal 3 engine isn't exactly demanding anymore. And the BioShock games never really took advantage of upgrading the engine.

Well, UE3 can still hammer a system if not optimized or overly populated with shaders/textures/polygons. Couple of custom high-texture maps I've played in UT3 have made my 670's sit up and go "wtf are you doing to me?"

Still, when things start flying everywhere and explosions and physx and all that starts happening (ie Statue of Columbia about an hour an), not even a single frame chugs.

Also popped open TR, turned on TressFX and did a BM run at 1920x1080, all settings ultra or highest equivalent. 50 FPS average. Would probably be 40-55 real world in TR during gaming. d(^^ d) :D

    Are those 670's 4gb?

Bioshock infinite is driving me mad...No matter what I do I cant get this game to run smooth, constant stuttering, load stutter. I'm sitting on 60fps but it don't feel smooth at all, always dropping frames.

    Rig.
    i72600k @ 4.7ghz
    8gb ram
    SLI 680's (2gb vram)
    All @ 1080p resolution
    latest nvidia drivers.

I have tried every tweak out there in regards to poolsize/texture/ini tweaks, tried running on game/textures very low, tried hyperthreading on and off, got rid of all my overclocks, stuffed around with all inspector settings etc, tried re-installing game...nothing so far has fixed it for me.

I have monitored in game GPU and VRAM usage...and it gets as high as 1.8gb but that's it, my GPU usage sits at 30% or lower (everything maxed), So I turned off SLI and my usage goes up to about 50% but still is a stutter shit fest.

Also monitored CPU usage and that isn't maxed out either.
Temps are fine on my whole rig, 1020w PSU is fine aswell.

Did the bioshock benchmark and whooped its ass with a high avg FPS. But in-game it sits on 60fps with a drop or stutter every 2 - 5 seconds..constantly and worse in battle when on a skyline and explosions everywhere.

Recently played Crysis 3, Hitman Absolution, newest Assasins Creed...no dramas at all smooth as but this damn game, wish it wasn't so good as I would just toss it and be done with it.

Any ideas out there people? (I guess wait for updates/patch?)
Anybody with 2gb vram 680's out there with advice?

Yeah bioshock is unplayable for me. If I disable SLI then works great, with SLI enabled it has high frame rates and as soon as I touch the mouse, it drops to about 5fps and stutters like crazy. Let it idle and frame rates jump up again. Havent been able to play at all on the new drivers.

TR works great except the Tressfx on surround, if I drop to one monitor at 1920x1080 then Tressfx works fine.

Depends on the flavour of UE3, if it's the current 3.5 build with all of the DX11 features enabled it can still put current hardware through it's paces.

This game chews through my 680 SLI setup in surround, I think I'm hitting the memory ceiling though.

Bioshock works fine for me in 680 SLI. Performs well, do get some stuttering, but nothing unplayable, just some hitching here and there. Might be a texture/memory issue? Not sure, but stays >50fps maxed out at 2560x1440.

I've been playing on the .22 driver with (2) 580's 3GB (800 mhz) and a 2500K (4.5 ghz) at 2560x1600. All settings maxed out except for shadows and ambient occlusion set to high. Also increased the texture pool size in the XEngine.ini from 400 to 1024. The vRAM is usually between 1600 and 2100. Did not muck with the Nvidia settings. Game runs at 60 fps but there is some small stuttering when loading different maps.

Through the ini's, I also disabled the intro videos, increased the FOV, decreased mouse sensitivity, and increased HUD scale, but don't think any of this affects performance.

Fun game. The attention to detail in the animation, sounds, and textures is amazing.

I originally posted that the drivers made bioshock unplayable but since then have removed and reinstalled bioshock and did the same with the drivers (twice) and somehow now bioshock plays perfect. Instead of removing the drivers and reinstalling it, I just reinstalled it on top of the old drivers and then it started working great.

When you speak of "removing the drivers", how exactly were you doing that? With some third-party uninstaller? Nvidia drivers now come with a "Clean Install" option that seems quite effective.
