OK, I am extremely happy with the Office PC you guys helped me built back in February that I thought I would bother you guys again and build another one.

I was going to use the same components to build this first one but I thought that I would be wise to see if there something newer (read: advance in technology) that would be better than mine but may be equal or even cheaper in price compared to the build I did 8 months ago.

Again, I don't want to go cheap (as in lower quality) but I also don't need top shelf or I-gotta-have-it-because-it-just-came-out stuff.

1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc
Office PC, Point of Sale/Accounting software, Parts look-up microfiche software (files on the server and not on the pc/workstation), Web browsing, e-mail + light MS Office (Word + Excel), Some/light Video and Image editing

2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?
$500 taxes and shipping included

3) Where do you live?
Miami, Florida

4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, case, etc. The word "Everything" is not a valid answer. Please list out all the parts you'll need.
Case
Mobo
PSU
CPU
GPU... Onboard video should be more than adequate
RAM
HDD... Small Raptor should do, I don't need SSD unless good & cheap.
CD/DVD Rom

5) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing? Please be especially specific about the power supply. List make and model.
Everything on that PC is 8 yrs old so I do not want to use anything. I may use one of the drive simply as a back up Data

6) Will you be overclocking?
No

7) What size monitor do you have and/or plan to have?
HP W2338H Monitor

8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC?
Right now if at all possible

9) What features do you need in a motherboard? RAID? Firewire? Crossfire or SLI support? USB 3.0? SATA 6Gb/s? etc.
10/100/1000 Ethernet card if not included with mobo, SATA,

10) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license? If so, what OS? Is it 32bit or 64bit?
Yes... Windows XP Pro 32 bit & MS Office 2010 Pro

Thanks guys, I know perhaps I shouldn't be bothering you and just stick with the last one I built but again, I am hoping you guys take it as a way to pass time without spending your money! :D ;)

$120 - AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition CPU
$70 - MSI 870S-G46 AMD 870 ATX Motherboard
$25 - G.Skill F3-10666CL9S-2GBNT 4GB DDR3 1333 RAM
$22 - Samsung SH-222AB SATA DVD Burner
$40 - Antec Earthwatts Green EA380D 380W PSU
$50 - NZXT Source 210 Elite Black ATX Case
---
Total: $327 plus tax and shipping

I've left out the hard drive for a reason: Due to the floods in Thailand, hard drive prices have gone significantly up. A lot of drives are now 2-4 times more than what they were in September. As such, SSDs are technically cheap in comparison to the hard drives right now:
$156 - Hitachi Desktar 7K1000.D HDS721010DLE630 1TB SATA 6.0Gb/s Hard Drive
$115 - Crucial M4 CT064M4SSD2 2.5" 64GB SSD

So up to you which route you want to take.

or they can hitup the FS/T forum. :D

I would go A75/ A3850 or Sandy Bridge I3 2105/ H67.
How large a Hard Drive do you need?

Hello Danny, you will have to suggest another motherboard; there is no onboard video on this MSI...

Maybe this one ? :

I have always like Intel more than AMD but the build I have now is also an AMD and so far, I can't complain.

As stated before, He's got 2 old drives right now and I could use one of them as a Back-Up only drive.

I was thinking that a Velociraptor 160GB/320GB should be more than enough.

I second going to an i3 unless you need lots of cores.
Isn't Bigger Better? :D

I know that XP might not push 4 cores to their limit but I always like to have more than less... more so when price is involve and I can have more for the same price.

Thanks for catching that up... much appreciated

Doh!

Yeah that Biostar mobo should work.

And again, Thank you Danny Bui for always coming to the rescue and helping out.

One question since the Mobo has change... do the rest of the component match the board? I am more concern with the RAM being compatible than anything else.

Thanks

i can vouch for that Biostar A880G+ ive had mine for a year now and no issues at all.

Depends, the i3 is faster in gaming and pretty much all single threaded apps. The 955 will only be faster if you have a ton of stuff running or if you encode.

OK, thanks

I will like to thank everyone for your input... I do appreciate it.
