More than I'd like to admit, haha :)

Let me see here...the specs are in my sig.

LCD - $800
Proc/Mobo - $800
Vid Cards - $1000
HD's - $150
Case - $150
Fans/Heatsinks - $100
PSU - $150
Memory - $300

Around $3500 total, or $2700 if you don't factor in the new monitor...Pretty good considering I started this whole exercise by comparing what I could do versus what Alienware could do.

Similar setup at the time for Alienware was around $6500 so I saved myself around $4000 or so...(pats self on back)

After installation, I'll be sure to post lots of pics and screenshots along with benchmarks, etc.

Weekend?

When I did this, I took my machine offline at work-days end (5pm), built it, configured it, and imaged it and had it all ready to go for the next days work at...

3am.

No balls :)

LOL @ Larry!

You are absolutely right, man, but my issue is that I promised a couple folks that haven't ever done this before that I'd let them help me on Saturday. Believe me, I'd be doing it right now if I didn't make that promise to them :)

I wish I had that sort of money, to get me something similar... *sigh*

How much wattage is that power supply? I'd love to know, just to see whats gonna be powering that system :D

I'm going to be using a Lian Li 6070b Plus: http://www.amdreview.com/reviews.php?rev=6070plus

Don't know if any of you noticed in the picture above, but I have both the Zalman 9700LED and Scythe Ninja. I'm still unsure of the clearance for the Ninja so I have a backup just in case :)

a backup just in case? heh, "I'll just run and grab this quality Zalman just in case."

that's great.

share the wealth. or at least doubly make sure to post lots of pics.

wow, nice..... Enjoy, I prob would have taken the day or afternoon off....

Well I am creatively challenged and that bench suits me fine. I guess suckage is a matter of individual needs

Nice find, thanks jacuzz1 :)

I might get that for a later date. This weekend, I'll be taking the gear into work where we have adequate lab space, however I like the look of that for when I'm benching at home!

p.s. I loved your Dell 3007 thread and you ALMOST had me pull the purchase before my conscious got the best of me!
